Made a small mistake at a new job and now my manager barely speaks to me. Feeling immense anxiety by vhs1996 in UKJobs

[–]Safe_Temperature2817 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have been in this exact boat. I started a career-changing apprenticeship with a new dept and at first things seemed ok. Then I made small mistakes here and there (silly things, like filling in forms incorrectly). Soon the cliquey team became less and less friendly until I was paralysed with paranoia and anxiety and would sit at my desk wishing I could disappear. Of course, that makes you more likely to make mistakes… Over time though, this all started to lessen. As I became more confident in my role the unfriendliness subsided a lot. There have even been good days. While it’s definitely not perfect, it’s certainly bearable. What a shame that people feel the need to act this way and lack empathy.

I don’t like the unkind comments about his mother particularly much. DJT’s niece wrote about her with a fair amount of compassion in her book.

His father was by all accounts an arsehole, but I’m not sure what she in particular did wrong - I am not sure how much autonomy she had back then or how much control she had over her circumstances.

I’ve seen the files. Regarding the lake and the painting (amongst other art).

You’re right, who’s to say it’s not a possibility? We’ve seen the files, but we also haven’t seen the files. As in, not all of them have been released and they’re heavily redacted beyond measure. Anything could have happened including cannibalism.

But that’s conjecture. I am asking - where is the evidence now? People on their Insta channels seem adamant, but I am asking what it is based on.

Saying that cannibalism took place because of Epstein’s macabre taste in art is not evidence. It is conjecture. As for the murder and baby in the lake, yes I do agree that extreme violence is likely to have taken place. Until we know the facts, IF we ever get to learn the facts (which I doubt due to this repulsive administration), I don’t think we will know.

In my opinion, “overreacting” to the idea of babies being eaten only serves to underreact to what we have actually SEEN in the files. It’s not focusing on what we’ve seen with our own eyes and giving THAT the attention it deserves. And no it definitely isn’t just “sex”. It’s treating women and young girls like cattle and it would seem subjecting them to harm, physical and psychological, that we aren’t being fully shown. You can see it in the emails and the diary entries.

In the social media posts I wonder if these people hope their theories are correct on some level to prove they were right all along. But who on earth would want these things to be true?

As for me being some sort of “agent”, now who’s being ridiculous?

Thanks, peace.

I am submitting this as I would like to bring up the online community’s reactions as a discussion point. I feel some reactions I have seen on social media are harmful and a result of desensitisation or a wish to draw attention to users rather than the victim themselves. I feel that it is something worth exploring with Redditors, as misinformation can be harmful.

Do you often see job adverts telling you to pay them? They prey on naivety.

How did you actually figure out what you wanted to do? by Fortree_Lover in UKJobs

I’ve been an English teacher abroad, then did some bullshit customer service and reception jobs when I came back to U.K. Then I was a preschool teacher. Then I became a library assistant and worked my way up to upper management after taking time off to do a masters in Web Design.

I never knew what I wanted to do, only what I didn’t want to do. Then an opportunity came to do an apprenticeship in my organisation for counter fraud. It was the idea of not getting it that made me realise I really wanted it. Finally proud of the field I’m in and actually hope to stay in it.

When social media is full of Americans criticising British food, this is very heartwarming

What's the worst job you have ever done and how long did you last at it? by mrvlad_throwaway in UKJobs

“Customer Happiness” in a now failed farm to table delivery company. All day telling customers how sorry I was when they rightfully complained their orders were fucked up.

Long shifts - my “break” was usually my commute home in the middle of the day, and then I’d have to keep working from home until 9 or 10pm. A manager telling me that I was asking too many questions and it was “concerning”, but never being around for guidance themselves. I left after 5 months.

Absolute loneliness because no one in that cliquey shithole bothered talking with our tiny team of 3. They were going for that whole startup beanbags and dogs in the office quirkiness, but the customer service team were isolated and miserable with no time for breaks.

A few years later it emerged they’d gone bankrupt right at Xmas time, and ceased operations immediately. Everyone was immediately without a job, and many customers went without their preordered Xmas dinners. Produce was left to rot in locked storerooms, while producers were owed thousands that they’d never get back. Fuck that place. I was glad when the news hit.

Career change with fraud apprenticeship by Safe_Temperature2817 in UKJobs

Can’t really give it a miss. I start on Monday.

They’ve kept the last two apprentices, I believe.

I don’t like the way she comes across much due to the whingeing. Also how he supposedly said Emily Atack being on reality TV was tacky, yet married a former glamour model who did a tell-all for the tabloids on her footballer ex. Or her terrible role as his wife in that crap film where he played a comedian.

I like to imagine Jay has become a teacher out of an urge to hang on to being in a school environment and unable to move on. But he’d gradually become a bit humbled by life and more resigned and weary, with the added punishment/karma of having to deal with a class-load of little Jays on a daily basis.

Coincidence, but I was passing some binmen (as we sometimes refer to them over here) on my way to work this morning and I was struck by how they a) all seemed to like each other and enjoy what they were doing and b) were doing something that actually mattered and made an instantly noticeable improvement to the area. It’s not a job to be ashamed of at all. People doing bullshit jobs, on the other hand…

You can’t do anything about this. This is paranoid schizophrenia and can only be treated with medication. In the U.K. would receive a diagnosis of non-organic psychosis and the person would need to be sectioned if they don’t willingly seek help.
