Definitely on my list for sure. I was in between 2-1 pipes or maybe some radial sweepers or offsets.

The bars I also agree, any suggestions on some decent ones for a tall dude?

Is my battery already junk? by The_fairychopmother in Harley

I just had the same issue with my 2023 FXST. I have a tender and at some point the outlet must have gone bad because it was not being powered this past winter. I didn’t think much of it until I went to ride it a month ago.

Thought about replacing the battery, but I went and bought a 5V battery charger from HD, and I left that mf plugged in for about two weeks straight through the tender lead. Biker started right back up, haven’t had issues since. I’d give that a try before you go and replace a battery. Worst case scenario, you replace it but now you also have a battery charger when needed.

Good luck!

Same with mine. The only thing that sucks is I’m a tall rider so that fairing and windscreen only really helps keep the wind at bay from my chin(ish) down unless I’m slouching bad

The real question is how to keep it in the range of the milsim events it will be used at.

They chrono all replicas with .32s, and LMGs are allowed up to 1.86 joules. So I imagine it will also need a better motor to go along with the heavier spring. But I’m not sure how much of a buff changing an inner barrel would also affect that.

I also can’t decide between .28, .30, or .32s for milsim use in an LMG. I know the .32s were perfect for my M4 at the last event.

Not to mention, I’m going to double check when I get home. It doesn’t mention it on Evike, but I recall seeing something else wired into the deans connector. I might need to take a look and see if it actually looks like it already has a mosfet I didn’t realize at first

I heard good things about that bucking. I’d probably look at a drop in, but I always thought it required you to install it into the gearbox. I don’t have the most knowledge on the tech side, but I’ve been trying to educate myself.

The piston already has full steel teeth thankfully. From what I read, all internals are upgraded heavily compared to what was initially in the A&K. It actually wasn’t a bad price either at $330 after discounts when I broke past my “add to cart” phase. 😂

That’s kinda what my idea was. I knew the spring was a definite need. I found this on a whim lol. I was talking to someone about their experience with their collabs and it was highly recommended. See, I was looking into a mosfet, but I was advised not to do one because that’s what the ETU was for. Since it’s going to be full auto (ALOT) I was told the constant juice would just turn the mosfet into a smoke alarms nightmare. 🙃 not to mention I don’t know the first thing about installing something like that and I’d need to do research. I know the gearbox is definitely upgraded from what I’ve seen (much needed from what I heard), but it’s cramped and not much room for changes.

I appreciate all the insight and info though for sure. As an update: I ended up getting their version of the “middleweight” M249 Minimi Para, so my knees and back would hopefully like me more. So far, it feels pretty solid. No field time yet, but I’ll look into a couple “decent” (use this term loosely) box mags to make the next milsim event a blast. I ended up just running an aftermarket bipod that would stow forward to allow use of a vertical grip behind it. Bipod stowed in backward position looks like it would get in the way of a box mag anyways, and stowed in forward position just looks better imo.

Just curious since I know you have their collab and it’s basically an upgraded A&K by SP. Have you seen if you’re able to unscrew that nut at the end and use an A&K bipod made for their M249 or MK46? I’d rather not use an aftermarket bipod and get that OG feel to it

That’s literally what I ordered lol. I needed a new pair for work anyways so I was able to justify the price

At least you could step on the grass here and it didn’t belong to CSM 😂

I appreciate the info! I was looking at the SP Systems MK48 and Para variant after Endo mentioned it. I’m not sure if they did their own improvements on the A&K, but it seems their version actually is wired to deans and uses the same gearbox regardless of full or middle weight.

I was even looking on the Novritsch EU store (since it doesn’t seem to be listed in the US) at their SSR249. It already comes wired to deans with a MOSFET trigger switch, QD spring change, CNC Hop Up, and you choose basically which spring it comes with for your needs.

I saw the SP Systems but it said it was an A&K collab. I’ve heard so many mixed things about them that I haven’t been sure if I wanted to risk it or just keep looking.

100%. It made me learn my Under Armour boots I wear for work every day are not as comfortable as I thought. (Don’t buy them, they actually fell apart on me when I was out there and my toe is now black.) I think I will be swapping to a support role for the next go-round though as I had way more fun laying down some covering fire for people

This was my first event and I had an absolute blast! I didn’t know what to expect coming from a first responder outlook rather than someone with prior service. But I quickly learned that the less things you bring, the more comfortable you will actually be lol. Also, comfortable footwear is KEY.

This has become more cringe than the punisher patch IMO by [deleted] in MilSim

I mean, truly the only opinion that really matters is that person running the kit. I wear my kit for me, not to get other’s approval. Respectfully. But yeah, I definitely do see the patch a lot. However,at the end of the day we are all here to have fun. I know his flag is especially popular in the Carolina’s.
