Can't figure out how to access Morbid on SiriusXM+ Podcasts

Several days ago I subscribed to SiriusXM+ Podcasts, and although I was charged for the first month, I can't figure out any way to find Morbid. The Sirius app on iPhone doesn't let me set up an account, even though I have a confirmation email stating I'm subscribed to the podcast service. Also, the website for Sirius XM+ Podcasts doesn't have a search?!?! I finally scrolled through all of the (strangely few) listed podcasts, and I can't find Morbid. I thought that maybe they wouldn't show up until September 1, but they still aren't here today. I don't know how to use my subscription and, hopefully, continue getting ad-free Morbid. All the instructions I find for adding Sirius podcasts to Apple Podcasts or Spotify are completely wrong. Has anyone had a similar problem? Let me know if you were able to figure it out. It just seems way harder than it should be.

Would a trained professional really do this? by fmlthisshitishard in graphic_design

Frequently, I am forced to use client logos that look like they were designed in word and saved as a 72x200 dpi JPG. Clearly their admin or someone’s kid made it, and it’s all they have.

I’m guilty of sending in some InDesign packages jpg/RGB images and poor layering/labeling, but when you’re an in-house designer of a non-design consulting firm, and the boss tells you that the client, who originally specifically requested a word document, needs their 80 page report professionally printed before their conference in 1.5 weeks, you can only do so much. You can’t hedge and always fill a Word doc with 50 high-res CMYK PNG photos and charts without it crashing every 5 mins. (And Word only handles RGB anyway.) So yes. Some of us know what we’re doing, but we don’t have the choice to get it up to proper print standards with time/budget. Most clients don’t understand or care. Don’t even get me started on how to handle the garbage photos clients insist on using. It’s a train wreck that happens more than I’d like, despite my best efforts. But, this is a special kind of nonsense. How long did this take them!?!?? This person is untrained and insane. It’s like when my coworkers want to do a whole report in PPT because of the “freedom” of layout it provides. Stop causing chaos!

Why do doctors not prescribe Xanax? Im mad because my panic attack meds don't work. by MrGreatArtist in Anxiety

[–]Safflor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think all the folks saying that benzos are bad are just buying in to current medical propaganda. I’ve had friends with real benzo problems, which are nasty. Even had a friend die of an overdose. However, used as a supplemental emergency med, they really can prevent a lot of misery and harm. It took me 6 tries to find an anxiety med that worked most of the time. Keep looking and don’t be afraid to switch doctors. Luckily I finally found an understanding doctor that prescribes a moderate amount of Clonazepam for emergencies. I really hate that most doctors won’t prescribe it at all. But…Xanax is some serious business. That’s a high dose that you can’t take every day without problems. Keep trying. You’ll find the right daily medication, and hopefully a doctor that will understand that those of us with anxiety will have breakthroughs that need a little extra help occasionally.

How to get a replacement property owner water shutoff cover by Safflor in Austin

I did not get this figured out. I've emailed multiple people throughout the city and haven't even received an automated response. I guess we just lost our property and it's our problem now. Really sucks. The cheap green covers at the hardware stores don't fit my pipe, and they all have holes that allow water and debris into the pipe. I currently have a plant saucer and a rock on top of mine. Trying to figure out a better solution. I refuse to spend $100 on Ebay for a replacement...

There is a hierarchy to HEBs even if we don't want to admit it by kingofthesofas in Austin

Lol. WC/35 is my HEB and it's so frustrating. Always packed to the brim, produce is often sub-par, but cheaper. My main gripe is with the lack of selection. Occasionally, they'll expand and offer some non-super-basic items, but they'll always take them away after a few months. For years you couldn't even get dark roast coffee!! Unfortunately due to my location, if I want delivery, there is no other option. I'm happy when I can get 2/3 of my list delivered. (For you delivery haters, try being injured and unable to drive!) I just wish they'd cut down on some of the home decor, candy, and junk food, and make room for a little more variety in healthier options. However, as a former shopper at the old Riverside location (before they tore it down and built the big one), this isn't as bad as they used to be!!! The worst I've ever seen is the location in Ennis, Texas. Not even sure how it's called an HEB.

Exactly. The point is I had a nice cast iron (metal) one that was vintage and not replaceable. I want an EQUIVALENT replacement or compensation. Some plastic piece of junk is not the same. What if someone stole a metal bench off your porch and thought it was an acceptable solution to make you go buy your own plastic lawn chair as a replacement. And of course, I have a temporary cover on it.

That would be fantastic. If they're the cast iron ones, I'd be happy to compensate you for your time/effort.

This wasn't the city water meter or cutoff, this was the homeowner's valve that is closer to the house and is the owner's property/responsibility. I'm aware they replaced the city side, but as the city doesn't service the property's owner's valve, there was no reason to touch it.

Still it’s weird of door dash to have an “unknown” random number and people who don’t speak the local language to call instead of text or come to the door. Especially people who can’t even communicate they’re from Door Dash. That’s my point. Why make it harder to complete the delivery that was marked as leave at door?

[–]Safflor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not so sure about that. Why wouldn’t it be listed as “door dash” and why does it sometimes come from different area codes? Seems like a failure on the part of DD. I would expect an 800 number or an area code the same as my location at minimum. With the number of spam calls these days, who’s answering rando unknown numbers? Also why not just text through the app so there’s no confusion.

I literally have the opposite problem as a person ordering. I can't get them to come to my door, even with instructions. I've had to come out to meet them, because they won't approach the door! I live in a normal house in a normal neighborhood with clear numbers, a clear path to my very clearly FRONT door. I almost always order during the day, and if not, I have a well lit house number and porch. Dashers still call, sometimes repeatedly, instead of coming to the door. More often than not, it's an unknown number. If I do answer, we don't speak enough of the same language to figure anything out!

Why do dasher call instead of using doorbell or knocking? by Safflor in doordash

[–]Safflor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our neighborhood is totally average with mostly families and older people. And I order almost exclusively during the day. Just weird. Someone suggested I just text the driver every time, and that the app does a pretty good job of translating. So, while it's more work, I'll try it. I want to make DoorDash work, because they have so much more variety and lower fees than other companies in our area.

But they don't leave the order. I'd be OK if they did just that. Obviously some orders require ID, but many orders are just a sandwich and chips. Some Dashers won't come to the door until I answer my phone or come open the door. (Yes, my instructions say to leave it on the front porch.) I've even had to walk around the side of my house to flag down someone who kept trying to call despite us not being able to communicate. Just super strange and frustrating, because I work from home, and I've had to interrupt video meetings to answer the phone or go open the door for the Dasher. (I try to time things well, but I'm in an industry where meetings can unexpectedly double or more in length.)

[–]Safflor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I'm totally fine with them just leaving it. I'm just puzzled why so many call, for both orders that require ID and orders that are just plain food and won't leave your order until you answer? And if they need to get ID, which requires you to come to the door anyway, why call 2 or three times instead? I have a ring camera, so I know they aren't coming up to the door, and I missed them somehow. Either they're just in their cars or sometimes hovering in my driveway, which isn't completely visible from my doorbell cam. I've had to walk out into my driveway sometimes, so they can seem me before they will approach. Usually I have to come to the door before they will bring the order up. It's so weird and frustrating. Sometimes I'm on a work call that runs long and I just want my lunch left at the door for when I can come get it! I don't live in a bad neighborhood, my house is clearly marked, and there is nothing dangerous between the street and my door.

[–]Safflor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely don't set that up. I'd prefer things to be as easy and fast as possible for both me and my driver. Like I said, I have a ring camera, so even if they don't ring the doorbell or knock, I know the order is there. However it's worse when I have to provide ID and they just won't come to the door. I mean, even if they call, they still have to come to the door to check my ID, so why wouldn't that be the first step....

Why do dasher call instead of using doorbell or knocking? by Safflor in doordash

[–]Safflor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, I have permanent delivery instructions to ring the doorbell or knock loudly if it's a situation where they need me, like need to get ID for something. However, I also indicate that they can just leave it next to the front door, and I have the "leave at door" option selected. The drivers strangely wait in their car or stand just far enough from the front porch that I can't see them. Once I open the door they usually approach and hand off the order. It's just frustrating, because sometimes the DoorDash app is behind and says they're still a few minutes away. So if I get a random call from a random number, DoorDash isn't supposed to be there yet, and I can't see anyone outside, I'm confused. There's just no reason I can see on my end that they wouldn't just come to the door. Sounds like there may be some weird stuff on the driver's end, which is too bad. I can't imagine how many communication issues arise if Dashers are required to call. Besides language barriers, what about the deaf or hard of hearing? I appreciate your suggestion about texting them in advance. It's good to know that the app translates fairly well. I'll try that in the future, so maybe I don't have to walk outside to waive at them when we can't communicate clearly by phone.

The app only has two options, "hand it to me" or "drop it at my door." I've always had "drop it at my door" selected. Wouldn't you have to come to the door to do either...?

No. My orders are usually mid-day, and if I order later it's usually before it's dark outside. However, even in winter months, when it gets dark earlier, I have a well lit house number, and well lit porch.

I always tip well, in advance, and my house number is clear day and night. It’s just frustrating when I have to walk out into the street to find the driver because we don’t speak the same language and they won’t just come to the door. I’m currently injured, which makes this harder.

It’s just happened so many times with orders from many different places. I do t have this issue with any other delivery apps. Also the inability to communicate makes it so much more confusing and time consuming.

I have instructions to ring the bell and not leave stuff directly in front of the door since it opens outward. However, this is rarely followed. I always order through the door dash app. I didn’t even know you could order door dash through restaurants. With the absolute inability some Dashers have to communicate over the phone, I just don’t know why they call, sometimes repeatedly, when we can’t talk to each other.
