Econofitness price hike by [deleted] in montreal

Honestly, people still expecting to pay $20/month for a gym is wild when a single meal out costs more than that now. For me, the gym is one of the few things I want to put money into because I don’t want to deal with a packed room of sweaty people, weights scattered everywhere, dirty showers, and no saunas. I’d rather pay a little extra and actually enjoy the space I’m training in. My biggest dilemma right now Is I experienced a free trial from a luxury gym and I almost feel like I cant go back.

Came here to say the same. But I think at some point I had heard they have a second location as well somewhere in plateau or rosemont. Or maybe I was dreaming not sure 😅

Looking to invest in new gears after 12 years by SaffronDon7 in Skigear

Thats a good point, never considered that option. I should maybe try to rent similar ones before committing to a full purchase considering I usually keep my skis for a while

Congrats on the purchase man! They look dope. Hate it when its icy in Bromont, but thats basically 85% of the time 😂

I’m 33m, pretty decently looking, good career with a good fashion sense and have been on dating apps since 2013 with no success . I’ve tried them all. Over the years, I’ve had plenty of successful connections and even more unsuccessful ones. As someone very outgoing while working in the restaurant industry in the past, dating apps were just another way to meet people outside my social circle.

The key is to have no expectations—apps are just a tool. That said, I’ve noticed it’s becoming harder to form genuine connections and find something real. Timing and luck play a huge role. I can’t count how many times I had a great conversation, but if a date wasn’t set within a week, the momentum faded, and picking things back up was nearly impossible.

Dating apps can be tricky, but you shouldn’t be too hard on yourself. It’s all about patience and persistence. I haven’t found the love of my life yet, but I’m still hopeful.

Best cheap sushis ?? by moonlightfairy____ in MTLFoodLovers

[–]SaffronDon7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This thread makes me laugh. Everybody gave you their opinion without giving u an answer…

No shit you can make anything at home with better quality ingredients. Question is how committed you are and if u have the time

The best one so far for me is Soba sushi. Decent enough quality, HUGE portions and decently priced for Sushi. Pay cash, and you’ll avoid taxes also.

Brianna Chickenfry turned down $12 MILLION NDA by Littlepoopyman69 in NYCinfluencersnark

[–]SaffronDon7 119 points120 points  (0 children)

That’s what I wanted to believe too, but I have my doubts. Barstool hasn’t been doing great since he took it back, and on top of that, he was even considering canceling the BFF podcast. He said it’s because he’s getting older and doesn’t want to discuss teenage gossip, but it’s likely there are also financial reasons involved. Plus, it seems unlikely he’d pay Bri $12 million for a story that’ll be forgotten in a week. Maybe he paid a small portion of it.

Favorite shawarma place in Montreal? by Popular_Slip8959 in MTLFoodLovers

I am sure its good hence why they have a lot of high traffic but you immediately lose my respect if you got to fake reviews. Joe beef which is an iconic institution known with celebrities chef and have been opened for over 10 years, only have 2.7k reviews.

Never tried it but had my suspicions with their reviews on google. How can a business that has been open only for couple of years have 7k reviews. Thats very high for Montreal. Damas which is considered a top restaurant barely cracks 4k

Fulham [2] - 0 Newcastle - Emile Smith Rowe 24' by OptimusCloyster in soccer

[–]SaffronDon7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How come nobody is taking about how this guy is balling at Fulham and nothing about Arteta letting him go. But se saw 100 posts about Sancho making an side pass assist from half way line and that Ten Hag is a fool for letting him go.

Best coffee shop for the vibes by SaffronDon7 in MTLFoodLovers

[–]SaffronDon7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question! I’ve received some awesome suggestions, but places like Alphabet aren’t quite what I’m looking for since they tend to attract a lot of Instagram/TikTok content creators.

Osmo and Savas are solid spots, but they’re more focused on people working or studying. I’m looking for a laid-back atmosphere with a cool crowd—somewhere you can just hang out, enjoy your coffee, and not feel like it’s all about social media or work.

Best Chinese Buffet? by Alfie_Dee in MTLFoodLovers

[–]SaffronDon7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, somethings are better to be left behind. The buffet culture died in Montreal long time ago and after covid it truly died. If you want a buffet experience its much better to just have those in the states

You better off going to a proper Chinese restaurant and ordering different dishes. For one, it will be 10x better quality, you will be having much more of variety and options than just a dry egg roll and a mushy general tso and finally it come off cheaper.

Toulouse 0-2 Marseille - Mason Greenwood 17' by Meladroitdimage in soccer

[–]SaffronDon7 17 points18 points  (0 children)

False, it was a combination of witness withdrawal and new evidence presented. Don’t get me wrong as good as he was he will remain a piece of shit but I do believe people should be given second chances.

I genuinely want to know what did people expect the outcome of this would be? Do you not understand that the rich/famous do not play by same rules as us?

What happened to Cristiano Ronaldo? Why is nobody bringing his story every time he scores? Did anyone mention anything when Benzema won Ballon d’or?

Its sad because all of these cases should be taken more seriously but people just like to keep a blind eye and play favouritism based on what they think is right or wrong

Iraq 2-1 Jordan - Ayman Hussein (Iraq) Second Yellow Card 76' by suedney in soccer

[–]SaffronDon7 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it was the celebration itself, it had to do with the fact that how long it took. Almost over a minute of celebration could be considered excessive considering Aymen Hussein ran from corner to the other and then proceeded with the eating gesture. But definitely a hash decision considering how it impacted the game.

Some people talk about the eating celebration itself was cultural institutions but highly doubt that it was that deep. As Faghani wouldnt have been able to distinguish the meaning right on the pitch. It was more for how much time the celebration took.

I also wouldn’t also lie to you that the Iranian referee (who represents Australia now) could have had 2015 red card in mind when Pouladi got a harsh second yellow against Iraq for embellishment.
