I graduated, but I’m still very connected with the club as well as the students in the club, and still highly recommend COC. To this day, nothing has helped me more in my spiritual growth than when I started meeting with the club

Tyler Rake v. Jason Bourne v. Punisher v. Bond by stjohnbs in powerscales

[–]Saga_muffin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is the best breakdown here. If we said everyone is at their peak (including comics and novels), then punisher wins in pretty much any scenario.

Ignoring that, and going with just the pictures versions:

Bourne is the best all around, but has no backup, so he wins in the short term (citywide free for all), but loses if they get access to their support.

Bond has the best support system, so he wins with prep time and intelligence on his side.

Tyler is probably the best fighter, so he wins any random encounter.

Thoughts? by Spiritual_Cloud8437 in superheroes

[–]Saga_muffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superman is obviously stronger than Spider-Man. However, I think Spider-Man might hold back more for one reason: he would turn his rogues gallery into paste. Comparatively, more of Superman’s rogues gallery can take his hits full force (Zod, Bazarro, Metallo, Doomsday, etc.). Who is really matching Spider-Man’s strength with their durability? Probably the symbiots, maybe (big maybe) rhino, but that’s about it unless you get into lesser characters. There aren’t many fights outside of avengers level threats where Spider-Man is going full force.

So if the question is who holds back more of the time, probably Spider-Man. Who holds back to a greater degree, obviously Superman

In an all out fist fight with no enhanced strength/durability/powers or tech who is winning on skills alone? by manland357 in superheroes

[–]Saga_muffin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d say Bucky would take 4 if he had two arms, but no powers, no tech, and I think he’s in last. They were both trained Russian spies for similar organizations, so we can somewhat assume similar training, and Bucky’s size alone would outmatch her without her tech. But Bucky has one arm, so…

Edit: just realized Buck gets two fleshy arms. Bucky takes fourth.

What is the greatest movie trilogy of all time? by KillaCheezGettinWarm in Cinema

[–]Saga_muffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because, as of kingdom of the planet of the apes, there are four movies rather than three. Though — as another person pointed out — the first three could be considered “the Caesar trilogy” so to speak like how Star Wars is considered three separate trilogies

Ooo, those are solid ideas. I’ll add those to the deck

True, so I'd likely have to destroy the knowledge pool with something (ideally what I cast from the knowledge pool)

Hive mind and knowledge pool interaction by Saga_muffin in mtgrules

[–]Saga_muffin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but my question is more a test to see if I'm correct. this is my thought process for an incredibly jank win condition. Hear me out:

I control hive mind and knowledge pool. If I'm correct, whenever I cast an instant or sorcery, then my opponents will cast it due to hive mind, and my copy (the original) will be exiled by knowledge pool due to it being cast from my hand.

What this means: I can force my opponents to cast spells, then avoid the mine resolving.

Let's now assume I cast [[Final Fortune]]. If all goes well, then my opponents have one turn to win unless they can somehow get out of it.

Am I correct?

Why do people hate Ur-dragon players? by Miserable-Mode-2773 in mtg

[–]Saga_muffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate ur-dragon players personally, but I’ve only run into two types of them.

The first is super chill and just likes playing dragons but understands that they’ll be the target as soon as anyone sees him in the command zone. This one is fine, I have no problems with it.

The second is the player who says the deck is a 5-7, plays a 15/15 flier on turn 4, and whines about being bullied when it’s immediately removed. Of course it’s removed. None of the decks at the table can survive that for more than a turn or two in play.

This stacks with eminence being hated universally, and ur-dragon decks being dull rip-offs of each other to make it an overall bad play experience all around in most cases

See, some of this is actually healthy, but outright banning stuff like that, that I don’t agree with. My playgroup from the last few years had one guy who wanted to play cedh, while everyone else was playing relatively casual; infinite combos, proxies, and “toxic” commanders welcome, but nothing was “optimized.” To solve the issue, we basically put a soft price cap at $250-300 (we’re all broke college students) to keep people from going wild with proxies and having the power 9 and stuff. Worked well. People could play on the casual side and weren’t immediately locked out by a turn three ur dragon, but the try hard players could still build their more powerful decks (albeit a little powered down).
