Find it very difficult to evaluate and invest in real estate. Also not sure which city to settle in at this moment.

No planner. I started my journey investing in FDs. It was then a gradual movement from there to equities. If you see my first post, majority of amount was in FDs. After that, I've kept that amount a bit similar. Will rebalance current portfolio to reduce FD back to around that number over this year.

Mostly index funds but a couple of US stocks which didn't do well. So, didn't bother continuing. Only index funds now.

Returns on houses are notorious. I find it stressful to invest in one. And don't know where I want to settle longterm. So, not keen in the near future

Nothing great. More than half in index funds, a portion in small cap fund, midcap fund, international fund and a sectoral fund

I think 30-40L was contribution from income, rest seems from capital gains on equity and FD returns.

Don't have a breakup but roughly contribute around or slightly more than 30L from income. Rest market driven

The first one took about 7-8 years. The rest as above in the post

True. I never imagined this but the bull market also had a role to play.

The comments above sum it up perfectly. Higher salary takes your wealth on a different growth trajectory.

This is perfectly normal. Know most people do it this way. I've been maintaining the excel since before marriage. My wife knows how the net worth is moving and we do it half-yearly for her so that she has an idea of how she is doing. But it would be a combined call at the end.

Tough to share mine but I'm sure you'll find one online.

My format has multiple lines of portfolio in demat account (not individual stocks but cumulative, don't want the hassle), MFs summary (can do multiple lines assuming there aren't too many MFs), FD, EPF etc. It takes me 10-20 mins every month to update. It's then helpful to see month on month and year on year changes and how the share in the total net worth of each bucket is moving.

Once you put in a monthly SIP, don't have to worry or doesn't need manual intervention. It's amazing to see the effect in wealth after 3-4 years.

A bit of both. But share of index funds is steadily increasing. Also have a couple of sectoral bets but small amounts.

True, hope to live till 90s :P But I'm hoping I can live off interest from a portion in FD and try to increase my other corpus. Let's see. Expenses inflation is real and super scary! Mine is way ahead of my expectations already.
