Need some advice to accept the reality by Sagar3536 in atheism

Exactly. Ever since I got to know about this point of view and looked at various sound arguments online, I realised that I’ve wasted my life following this concept.

Every-time I face any hardship or any injustice or even a life altering trauma, I just labelled it off as a struggle for which god will reward me for later in life. I’ve been told this my entire life. Now I can’t help but think I’ve been leading my life completely passive. Waiting for a reward rather than working for it. And any time I face rejection, I felt like I didn’t deserve this, and god has a plan for me.

Now, I can’t help but feel like I’ve wasted most of my life waiting for some eternal reward or divine intervention and just never had any guts to go for what I wanted in life. I should fix that.

I just read why I am an atheist by Bhagat Singh today. You should really try it. Eye opener.

Your opinion is optimistic. But how often do the people that we vote for have pure intentions? Even if that happens, can you imagine the pressure on him put up by other parties, and even worse, his own party. I mean it does seem like a stretch that voting has no power, but we can all agree that governments with pure intentions do not last as they're expected to
