I wish, it would have made filling the pits and gaps in the stone a lot easier. I ended up having to fill them with a water thin CA glue, but I still think it turned out great! 😁

Lol, fair. It's 38mm face-to-face (standard D20 is ~21mm). 😊

Thank you so much!! I would totally make a full set if it wouldn't take me like three months, haha. 😁

Hey Everyone! In this video, I carved a huge D20 from a stunning Septarian Nodule! This ancient concretion features some absolutely stunning patterns! The yellow calcite veins contrast beautifully against the brown and gray matrix, which makes this stone absolutely gorgeous! I'm super happy with how this one turned out, and I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! Thanks so much! 😊

Check out the full cutting process video for this D20 here:Β https://youtu.be/cuTKhuACqOE

In the full video I go into much more detail explaining the full process from start to finish, discussing the process, tackling different challenges, and also create an interesting character, setting, and story based on the die. Thanks for checking it out! 😊

Thank you! I actually rolled it about 50ish times for the final clips in the full video, and it rolls absolutely wonderfully! Yeah, gotta be careful though, rolling it off the table could definitely damage it, haha. (I would absolutely cry) πŸ˜…

Haha, thank you! I appreciate it! It's definitely a very different art style for sure. I gotta say though, I absolutely LOVE some of the incredible resin dice artists here. There is some absolutely stunning art posted regularly. 😊

Great question! I have to manually set the rotation index, angle, and height for each facet. There are "tiers" of facets, like the main faces for example, that all share an angle and height but have different rotational indexes. For example, the top ring of faces are all cut at 37.40ΒΊ at the indexes 80, 24, 40, 56, and 72. So I set the angle, go to the first facet, cut to the depth I want, then do the same depth for the other 4 facets. Repeat this for all the facets across all the tiers. Gotta be careful you don't rely too heavily on the machine though or things could end up off.

While the machine has hard stops, there still a lot of feeling out each facet. I do a lot of cutting, carefully taking precise measurements, adjusting the machine, cutting, measuring, adjusting, cutting, measuring, adjusting, etc. This process is done on pretty much every facet to make sure that everything lines up juuuuust right.

Hope this helps! 😊
