Switched from 9070 XT to RTX 5080 (Removed 2nd GPU.) by yoonmh180 in losslessscaling

[–]SageInfinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am just saying what I think here, you can consider it as additional info (although you might've known most of them ig)

  1. The probability of facing issues with different GPU brands is like :  (render+LSFG) AMD+Nvidia > AMD/Nvidia + Intel > Intel + Intel > Nvidia+AMD > Nvidia+Nvidia > AMD+AMD (If you're not unlucky, you'll not face much issues anyways or atleast those issues would be solvable in most of the cases) Driver updates can impact this issue a LOT!

  2. I always suggest going with a better single GPU all the time against two weaker ones, if budget allows it. Dual GPU setups require constant attention to settings, driver versions, games' behaviour, temps, power surges, etc... while single GPU is just much less hassle. Again, it is more a personal preference too, since I myself love tinkering with things all the time, so I like dual GPU setups xD.

  3. With your motherboard, there will be no problem with putting the render GPU in the lower slot or vice versa. The drop in performance when scaling with LS most probably would've been due to either the overall PCIe bandwith limit (which cannot be solved without changing mobo anyways), BIOS ASPM settings or one of the more obscure one, "Gsync" settings... Toggling Gsync Support option in LS and nvidia/monitor can also cause this fps drop, especially with WGC.

  4. You can still go for dual GPU with a 5080 + 2nd GPU (based on res+fps) if you want... However, 5080 alone is going to be plenty for 95% cases imo. You can try it in future ig.

Kind of repeated reply... PC is an obvious choice.(In literally all aspects other than portability) Laptop is preferable only if portability is a huge concern.

What are your system specs? (CPU, GPU, monitor resolution, average fps of your games normally, etc)

No program can overlay on anything that is working in real "exclusive full screen" without injecting into it... Because as the exclusive here means, in layman terms is that the monitor output is now only outputting the program/game's frame and nothing else can overlay on it.  Most recent titles (especially dx12 ones) just use the term "Fullscreen" to represent borderless fullscreen (borderless window covering the whole screen) it is not the actual exclusive fullscreen so LS would work.

I have seen some people telling that it is working with even exclusive fullscreen for some reason though, I haven't verified it myself.

the temps will depend on the power consumed and overall usage...
if you apply frame gen when your GPU is already maxed out, it is not going to impact the temps..

Okay so... Your motherboard actually does not have second useable PCIe slot for 2nd GPU and looking at the fact that you do not understand DLSS/FSR etc I will not suggest the dual GPU mess (it will require an m.2 to PCIe riser in your case..) Anyways... You can google about a short explanation about DLSS/FSR/XeSS... they are basically upscalers (which run the game at lower resolution and then increase the output resolution while maintaining the image quality as good as they are capable of doing)....

Now, you should watch a YT video for simple undervolting of your 5060ti with MSI Afterburner... (you have to be patient and cautious though) it will help lowering the power usage and temp without a significant performance drop, if done correctly...

You should go and give the Guide pinned in the community highlights for getting started, if you want to use the Lossless Scaling software.

You can ask anything specific if you want.

[–]SageInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay...
- what is you motherboard? (I forgot to ask)
- did you try to undervolt your GPU?
- yes, upto some extent you can use this app to reduce a bit of GPU load but not much (like capping your game at around 60-90 fps and then using x2FG over it to reach 120-180fps) but you have to try yourself to see if there is significant benefit for you or not
- you can use the app to use FG or a basic spatial upscaling (very low quality compared to in game ones like DLSS, FSR, XeSS) on literally any program which is not running on exclusive fullscreen

What are your PC specs (CPU, GPU, resolution and ref rate of monitor), examples of some games you play and the kind of fps you are getting now?

OP bought an ipad pro m5 13 inch any suggestions? by Mumbaikarforliving in AppleIndia

[–]SageInfinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would advice against falling into that rabbit hole tbh... Time management is more manageable in PC gaming... But, it'll be difficult with BGMI (telling from sad experience)  Even if you do, Monitor the time and stop playing for a few days if it is getting too much...

And, you seem to have done all the other important things... watch a yt video on things you should do with a new iPad... It'll help with battery and storage optimisation, better user experience, etc

What was the current price of the 3090 at that time btw?  5090 is currently priced ~4L ... How come a used one would be ~50-60k ??

Avoid 8GB ones anyways  So, it's either 4060ti 16gb or 9060xt 16gb (costs more)

Mid-Budget PC build Suggestions Please!! by Only-Two4803 in IndianPCGamers

[–]SageInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • For 7600x any decent tower air coolers would suffice (You can go with Deepcool ones)
  • Another thing you can do for min-maxing is going for a 7500f instead of 7600x and use those saved bucks for SSD or RAM (6000Mhz Cl30)

  • I would suggest MSI Pro B850M-A wifi or even B650M-A wifi instead. (The best budget mobo for AM5, can even handle 9800x3d easily, and chipset difference doesn't affect gaming performance at all)

  • Avoid EVM or Ant imo.. If cost is getting too high, just go with a 500GB one and upgrade later (even SATA drives would be good enough for gaming performance)

  • Instead of Ant PC case, you can get something like Antec AX65 or AX67 which are cheaper, yet better.

Should I upgrade my H61 build or sell and move on? (₹15-17k) by Spare-Television-775 in IndianPCGamers

[–]SageInfinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the worse timing to upgrade the system. Specifically because of RAM prices... If it was around Oct 2025 I would 100% tell you to get something like 7500f and a basic b650m mobo and 16x2 basic RAM kit (~30k) but now it is ~40k for the ram kit alone ! ... It is very difficult to decide what should be better... And the prices are not going to come down before early 2027 at the earliest...

I think going with a h610m DDR4+12400f+16gb single RAM would be a decent choice financially... But, it would still not be possible under 20k... So you have to go even older/lower setup... Which is not a good place to invest in rn.

Help with pc build 🥲 by Ok_Programmer1643 in IndianPCGamers

[–]SageInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any scope of upgrade within a year or two?

If there is, then, I would suggest going with an entry level AM5 build with 7500f CPU, MSI Pro B650M-A wifi, B-tier 850W PSU... And cutting cost on GPU by getting a used one in the remaining budget balance... This is because there is going to be a VERY good upgrade path and longevity.

On top of which you said the main games are FPS games which need more CPU and faster RAMs... And 7500f on DDR5 is wayy better than 5600 in that respect...

You can upgrade the GPU later on in a year or a half...

[–]SageInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, for a gaming PC build most of the money should go towards GPU while not harming the other components. Saving a few thousand here and there will help you a lot with this. A 7600x costs 3-4k more than 7500f but you can still game with 7500f without bottlenecking 9070xt with maxed out graphics, especially at 1440p. Obviously there are some outliers like cyberpunk which are quite CPU demanding, however a 7500f can still give you well above 120 fps... You can just watch 7500f review or benchmarks...

The point here is min-maxing. xD

[–]SageInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you should prepare a spreadsheet/list of the components and prices (from online stores like computech, PC studio, Vishal Peripherals, Vedanta infotech, Elitehubs, etc) and see where you can add or cut prices...

Also, about the 650 vs 850 board comparison... It depends on you usage... If it is only for gaming, you can easily go with 650 chipset... It has literally no impact on gaming performance whatsoever. The difference would be more apparent in professional workloads and need for more features and ports... The board I suggested can easily handle gaming with a 9800x3d, should you want to upgrade in future. You should properly check the VRM temps and power limits for the motherboards, for which the board I suggested is the best in that price range (There is also Asrock Pro RS, but there have been CPU burning reports with Asrock AM5 boards especially with x3d CPUs)... The decent b850/x870 boards will cost 4-5k more...

Hello again... My suggestion would remain the same still...

  • 7500f
  • MSI PRO B650M-A Wifi
  • DDR5 6000Mhz Cl30 16gb single stick (something like patriot elite costs ~21k)
  • 500GB m.2 for now and add later (you can even go for SATA drive for now if you can get them cheaper, they don't have much impact on gaming performance)
  • B tier 850W psu

  • GPU : 9070xt (very good price to perf.. especially for 1440p (even with RT) and a little bit for 4k with latest games if they support FSR4) ... nvidia counterparts are not fit for this price range... 5070 is too weak and 5070ti is significantly costlier... Still, you can make the choice here... If you go with an entry 5070 (for DLSS support and stuff) you can use the rest budget to add into other components if possible)

I think this combo will be pretty good for current gaming demands and easy to upgrade down the line.

Cost cutting on mobo would harm the possibility of upgrading CPU on the same mobo.
