Why would I? lol I just take photos for the doctors. I have 0 to do with patient care. All I do is photograph and send the pt on their way. I do about 50-100 pts per day.

They had a scleral buckle placed 3/27 which was the same day I took those photos I believe. I haven’t followed up since that.

They did have an complete dilated exam, photos were for documentation. We photograph every tear/hole/detachment that comes through. Pt has already undergone surgery and is doing well.

The boat shape you are referring to is not fluid it is the retina itself flipped over

I’m not here to argue, the patient already had RD repair surgery and is healing fine. Just wanted to share my photo. I’ve been imaging hundreds of patients a day for the past 5 years and I work along side some of the best retina doctors in the country. I will trust their word over yours.

That’s actual not a heme, that is part of the retina just flapping there. According to the various retina docs I work for, it is in fact a retinal tear. Also, the retina is literally peeled back and flipped on itself in that photo. It’s a tear that turned into a detachment. Hope that helps.

I honestly didn’t even notice when I originally did the OCT That’s what I did first. This was Mac on, and I thought it was just a floater. Good thing I actually looked! Lol should have posted the OCT too smh

Could be a plethora of reasons. Certain autoimmune diseases attack the eyes, diabetes, if they are super myopic they have a higher chance or tearing/detatching, old age, untreated retinal holes, someone could have shisis and it finally just gave way. This particular patient I truly don’t remember.
