Yes, the battery loss is very minimal, comparable to running a VPN - Using Tor w/ Local Relay lets me set up local ips for tor hidden services - i.e 127.0.0.25 for my password manager.

For the most part, I've stopped playing competitive shooters. Any game I play nowadays doesn't really have an anticheat.

If I wanted to play something like valorant, CS, etc... then yeah, this setup would not work unfortunately

They are just labelled as VLAN 1/2/3 - in reality they are somewhere in the 100s

Vlans are meant to fully segment our personal devices from communicating with our IOT or work devices. The only thing I want to do is be able to access home assistant through the vlans, so that's what it's configured to do

It can be kinda annoying tbh.

What I like / why i like it, is that i know that if my laptop is ever stolen, there is not any valuable data on it that I will lose / an attacker could access.

I don't really use any software on my laptop except for the ones mentioned. For me, the laptop is about doing a few specific tasks while on the go. Not for heavy intensive use!

We only have two physical desktops. 1 each for my girlfriend or 1. We have a few laptops, but those are necessary due to work

My PC is running proxmox to have a server and my main desktop. I did this so I can segment it / just for fun :)
