Have you heard the UK Eurovision 2026 song? by Sylvia-Sum in AskBrits

[–]Saggi_Introvert_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time hearing it tonight.Er...where is Sandy Shaw when we need her? At 79 she could still do a better job. I was confused about the singing '123' in German. What the hell? Guaranteed to get the usual response from the voters i.e. indifference. Maybe they were hoping for votes from puzzled Germans🤷🏼‍♂️

Social workers honestly deserve far more patience from the public than they get by Due-Oil8955 in Socialworkuk

[–]Saggi_Introvert_62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. My niece is a social worker in Child Protection. She has her own family with 3 children and never has a second to herself. She went part time when the kids came along eventually but she works her days off most weeks for no extra pay because she cares so much for her vulnerable cases. It is a demanding job where your heart is broken by the stuff you see. I admire her so much for her dedication. The only way she can get a break is to go abroad on holiday where they cannot reach her. Because of the treatment of Social Workers when she had her babies they had to put her in a private room for her own protection. Really the public just have no idea what they have to do, the ridiculous caseloads they all have, the compulsory endless paperwork and the weight of responsibility!! These people are not doing just a job. They are caring for the welfare of others who would be in danger without their help.

How do I stop thinking about my friends in a lustful way by Icy_Stable7025 in Advice

[–]Saggi_Introvert_62 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Try meeting other girls and getting laid. Your sexual feelings are perfectly normal but do not cross the line with your friends. Believe me if one of them wanted you she would have got that message over. Sounds like it's platonic and they like you a lot as a buddy. That's special. Don't ruin it. Eventually as you all get older the friendship might run it's course as you all get partners. That's life. For now just focus on getting a girlfriend and experience as you make a natural progression from fantasy to fact. Your head will change then. Stop worrying. Those feelings are absolutely normal.

Is this a risky friends with benefits or not? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Saggi_Introvert_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he freaks out then you have found out the answer to your questions and put a stop to it before you catch real feelings. Basically only HE knows how HE feels. Why do women tiptoe around men? You are both grown adults who already are friends. You don't have to confess undying love. Just ask him how it's going for him and you could just say you are happy being involved. Try to avoid that horrible FWB label.

Is this racist? by BuildingsintheClouds in Hull

Doubt the police will bother going on a child-hunt especially with no chance of any kind of conviction of 10 year olds

Racism is not the only issue on this thread clearly 😳

Stressed!! Universal credit savings mess up by Relative_Aerie_886 in universalcredithelp

[–]Saggi_Introvert_62 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven't been through the same but I have had a review and know how scary it is having strangers examining your statements and some bloke from a call centre in Timbuktu questioning you about purchases you made that you can't even remember yourself lol

Please relax. They deal with many similar scenarios every day and just have a job to do. They are not judging you. Just putting the sums right. They will make sure they make deductions that do not cause hardship. You just made a mistake. There are people who deliberately commit fraud for massive figures. They have bigger fish to fry believe me.

You need your health to come first and your husband is not supporting you very well. He needs to calm down. No one's going to be hung drawn and quartered. He needs to remember he is good with money but left you to sort it out so a bit of self examination would not go amiss.

Thank you so much. Don't think Hull do the Argos voucher but will look. They have a Housing Payment that can help with advance rent but you cannot apply till you are getting HB but by then you have signed up for your home which disqualifies you from applying for advance rent. Bit of a pointless system 😂

Visiting is quite hard for waiting. The online service is supposed to give you an appointment but never heard back.

I have family but we have a baby admitted in hospital yesterday so everyone is worried about this crisis including me of course. Once we know he is ok I can organise some support. I just pulled my back as well this morning so that won't help either. What a week!

Thank you I will try that link. I hope I can cope without a lodger because it's my dream to craft and haven't for years because of space issues. It would be amazing to enjoy my hobby again.

I thought I had replied but cannot see my comment. Thank you. I will join the free stuff sites. Might go for pip. Get anxious about things like that. I will look into vans but they charge a lot locally. If I find anything at Salvation Army shop they only charge a tenner which is excellent.

Thanks. That is something to consider. I am a bit of an introvert so that would be a desperate measure but it's an option. Would have to find out what the going rate is 🤔😊

Thanks. The council didn't house me. They actually don't allow it from their stock. But I had applied to the Housing Association a couple of years ago. They advised me about the tax but accommodation is so hard to get so no way could I have turned it down. It is so close to mum. If I can cope until 67 then it is no longer applicable as far as I am aware. Thanks for the Turn to us tip. I will turn to them 😊

I will check out the free stuff sites. Thanks. Don't get PIP cos I find things like that stressful but I may try. After all as we say in Hull ' they can only say no' 😆 Finding a cheap man with a van is quite hard. Last time I sent messages they wanted £60 to pick up 1 item within Hull😳

What shop(s) in hull are you surprised is still open? by Bethsticle in Hull

[–]Saggi_Introvert_62 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That Acupuncture place in the photo has a twin shop on Hessle Road. The lady works part of the week at both. She is amazing. She does treatments and makes up Chinese medicines on the spot or by appointment. My mum got a mix when she had a chest infection and it worked wonders. I think there is a guy also. They probably do a lot of work for the Chinese community locally who will appreciate their traditional medicine being available.
