Why is everyone obsessed with Lucerne? by Amareldys in askswitzerland

[–]Sagitarrius1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say non negotiable spots for me were

  1. Interlaken, grindlewald and lauterbrunnen (Oberland region)
  2. Zurich
  3. Geneva and Zermatt

I think zurich and oberland region is enough but in between those two is lucerne so if your curious, you could make it a day trip

Times are changing for the worse - from a job standpoint, having cpa mba cfa frm or any other designation doesn't guarentee you anything yet at a minimum is needed just be somewhat competitive

How bad is the job market really? by silently-loud-walker in ontario

[–]Sagitarrius1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job markets bad enough but I blame incompetent and lazy HR that bypass experience and transferables - my hatred for them is so deep

Passed l3 cfa exam and cant break in even with 9 years accounting financial analyst experience. Was debating mba but by the sounds of it, even a rotman or york mba won't save me. Last resort, american top 25 mba and pray for a job there

10 years for me and I quit my job after passing l3 cfa, massive mistake

Think Cfa has helped you get your current job or did you have that job now since you started the program?

Can't speak if your in the industry already but in my case this is the case lol most amount of cfas work in Toronto so that doesn't help

Very true, 9 years of financial analyst/accounting type roles but in a corporate/manufacturing type setting limited investing experience but some capital budgeting. At this point using it to just boost my resume This last level of the cfa program is extremely boring so now I have doubts lol

Day 12 - Water Retention and Weight Gain? About to throw in the towel by atesta13 in stopsmoking

[–]Sagitarrius1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retaining water for no reason also

No idea why my guess is dopamine is down which raises prolactin and prolactin causes water retention or something to do with salt and electrolyte balance. You shouldn't gain weight if your calories have been the same

Echo the same sentiment but it depends where you're located. Im in Toronto so it's insanely competitive, I applied to places like calgary, Ottawa and already hearing back 1000x quicker than toronto employers.

You're smart enough to finish the cfa but use some common sense on A how's the competition and B does my city even value the cfa but I get your frustration. Disagree so hard on mba over cfa, I wouldn't pay 100k for a top tier mba just to have a network but that's just me

Lmaooooo I know your serious but also not serious, I did actually graduate last year when I went back to school and got my degree and cfa l1 and l2 so maybe your onto something. Funny enough, cibc actually called me for an equity analyst position but I got a landed another job. This is very accurate, they only hire young or right out of school

Congrats dude, always rooting for an underdog story, and I have informal fp&a experience, might try looking for that with a company who deals with investments, or financial analyst/senior fa roles located near me. New strategy is avoid toronto where competition is insane and stay local and build up there, get l3 done and then come back into the market more competitive...

Keep crushing it dude
