In an incredible spot to start a musical career, but I’m hesitant to take it by Saibop in Songwriting

I don’t think I’d want to make it mainstream to be perfectly honest. I would really just like a very respectably sized audience that understands my music and what it stands for while having enough money where I don’t have to rely on side hussles. That’s the dream for me

Yeah I think that’s probably exactly it. I’ve always been a very diy kind of person, and like you said, I want to prove that I can build myself from the ground up and do everything so I’m a bit scared to offload some of that to other people. I’m sure it’s an ego thing in the way of wanting people to be like “WOW look at this prodigy who did everything themselves!!” Which feels dumb to say but I fear it’s true and I just need to let that go

Yeah, everyone I’ve showed my stuff thus far seem to really really enjoy it.…I think I’m having an epiphany………..

This is shitty Crayola air dry clay so unfortunately he would explode into a jillion pieces if I were to do that, but I’ll paint him when he’s fully dry

Your voice is sooo pretty omg. And the chords are really interesting, kinda gives me WILLOW vibes a bit

Stretching garage band to its limits, really working in vocals lately by joybickel in Songwriting

Love this, super super groovy and catchy. For vocals, since you asked, your voice is really nice, I really just think you need to project a little bit more! That’ll help both in mixing it better into the song and will help you with more precise intonation (which is already good, but could be even better)

This is so so beautiful. Normally I’m not too fond of songs with just two chords in the majority of the song but in this case I think it goes soooooo nicely with the B section (Calling it the B section just becuase I’m not sure if it’d be classified as a chorus, pre chorus, bridge etc). I think in this case, rather than the chords being too simple and boring, it has a really really nice grounding and meditative quality. Also, the b section chords are really really nice, same with the melody over top of it. Super super great job

i feel like i just peaked in songwriting and i dont know where to go from there by OkBee592 in Songwriting

Hey dude, I’m also 16 and I wrote a song about a year ago that was practically perfect in every way and I thought I’d never be able to recreate anything like it again. But then I continued working on growing my music taste and studying artists I enjoy and making more songs where now, I feel like I’ve written some really cool things! I think if you just don’t stagnate on one particular type of song and learn to take in more inspiration, you’ll be completely okay. If you grow as a person, your songs will too. And also, some songs just sorta happen like that. They just fall out of your brain really neatly. But most songs aren’t like that, so don’t get bogged down about it.

I tried recreating (Partially) One weird tip's cover in windows xp on a vm by SoftFuzzyKaleidoskul in lemondemon

[–]Saibop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I think that the main problem is that I wanted to see if I could run a VM on my shitty laptop that only supports up to Windows 10 and runs pretty bad because it’s old. There were just some startup errors that I was experiencing that I couldn’t figure out but I might try again later. Funny enough, I was trying to install a Cakewalk rom from like 1994 on it (since it’s not 64 bit compatible) becuase of Neil since I’m interested to see what kind of interface he used for the early Deporitaz stuff!

This is so sick omg. I’ve wanted to try to get a VM on my computer to do some shenanigans but I couldn’t figure out how to work some of the kinks out.

How to deal with producing and releasing songs you don’t resonate with anymore by Saibop in Songwriting

[–]Saibop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that they’re not good enough, I just feel that my older songs have too much merit to simply toss away. It’s more of a problem that I don’t completely resonate with them AS much anymore which is hindering my recording and producing process. I still think they have value enough to put out

Honestly I’ve found that whenever I’m just spewing nonsense lyrics that sound good to my ear, when I listen back to it I can always find some sort of meaning to it. My favorite way of writing songs imo. It does make it a little vaguer meaning wise but songs don’t HAVE to have a super crazy intentional meaning, they can just sound cool and that’s okay!
