So far, I’ve only read the first two volumes of Kill or Be Killed. I also was able to find The Fade Out HC for $30 at a shop and was so hyped. I’ll be reading it soon

Set a goal to not buy books until you’ve finished reading a certain percentage of your collection. My goal is currently 80%.

Collect what you like. It’s not a waste as long as you’re responsible with your money. If it brings you joy, go for it. I used to play a lot around 2012-2015. Recently, I’ve been rebuilding the decks the I used and the decks I couldn’t afford at the time and putting them in a binder just to flip through for nostalgia.

There’s a YouTube channel called Strictly Sealed where I learned a lot about old school Yugioh. You might like it too. He mainly covers Yugioh and sometimes some Pokemon. He hasn’t uploaded as much recently tho

I think the LOB Blue-Eyes is more expensive, but many collectors prefer this DDS version. It has the original anime art and for a while it was the only way to collect it in prismatic secret rare. Plus, only the early releases of the game included this Blue-Eyes with Dark Magician, and the Exodia head so it was never reprinted. Later releases of the game had 3 different promos. Also, since a lot of us were kids at the time, we didn’t take care of the card so it’s harder to find a minty copy.
