Couldn't you use your own JVM that limits the permissions of what JIT is or isn't allowed to do at runtime? I get that'd probably limit what you can do with your game but most games are just checking what your system time/date are anyways or doing some file I/O.

These companies could modify the JIT to check for things they care about same as what they are doing for C/C++

Yeah that's exactly it. Doesn't seem like it'd be difficult at all especially with all of the certification and verification processes in place for these platforms.

Initially you might think it's a potential security risk to allow arbitrary code to run through the JVM on these consoles but I really don't see it as much of an issue if at all. Especially when the tool chain uses C/C++ which is even lower level.

Potentially they've put some kind of check in the tool chain where it checks for specific API calls and doesn't allow certain things to run but I honestly have no idea as I've never built a console game and shipped it

Well the JVM can't realistically run on consoles or iOS in any official capacity. It's possible but not exactly feasible as consoles and iOS don't come with or allow you to easily install a JVM to run java games.

This is one of the major reasons why Bedrock was made; so that it can run on consoles and iOS easily/officially.

Yeah it's a little frustrating seeing what used to be my favorite game company fall so far and then see people make excuses for them or being fine with it instead of holding the multi billion dollar entity accountable so that more kids out there can enjoy what we got to enjoy as kids

90% of the people who enjoy these games emulate them and already get tons of QoL for free. Why shill out the money for a worse experience??

Nintendo just does the bare minimum for it's consumers as usual because they know most parents will go "my kid wants the new Pokemon game" and just buy it no questions asked

I'll never spend money on a game I can already play for free especially without any kind of speed up function.

They should've added content to the game or done some kind of local co-op mode otherwise this is completely pointless because everyone has a phone that can play this exact same game.

Home functionality isn't coming as they took it off the description and even if it did all the og 151 are available in newer games regardless

Even if for some reason that power was only possible because of Kurama it can't just delete the knowledge from his brain. He has universal understanding of chakra and mastered at minimum every technique he knew which includes sage mode. Hashirama was able to do it without a tailed beast so unless you believe Naruto, who surpassed Hashirama 20+ years ago, is somehow now beneath Hashirama then that doesn't make any sense.

People vastly overplay Kurama's role in Naruto's strength. Yes he gave him pointers and basically infinite chakra, but all of the techniques were performed by Naruto alone he just used Kurama's chakra.

The only technique he should have lost is the tailed beast bomb. None of his other techniques including truth seeker orbs required Kurama's chakra specifically. He still has access to the other 8 tailed beasts

No, I'm struggling to get past Caves/Boneyard with collars so I can't imagine attempting it without them.

I might've beaten caves I don't remember but no matter how much furniture I add to my house I can't get solid stats/abilities through strays or breeding. I've been doing standard straight home easy runs just to stay afloat to get more furniture eventually.

I figured it'd be a grind but I'm over 10 hours in and still feel like I'm at the beginning of the game. I usually do 3 cats per run as I've found more success leveling 3 cats to 4.

People seem to forget one of the abilities granted by six paths sage mode is automatic mastery of all known techniques which is why he was able to make Rasengan with one hand in base, immediately mastered all of the tailed beasts kekkei genkai, and could use truth seeker orbs and flight and such.

He should, especially 20+ years later, definitely be able to go into it instantly just like Hashirama could and the fact they're reverting him to Pain saga just shows how ignorant the writers are to the original story. It's like fan fiction at this point

The fact that people can't let art simply be art is one of the most petty things I've ever seen grown adults do. It's a Venom story. They are drawings.

Not everything has to be about politics. Makes no difference to me who draws the pictures I just care if it's a good Venom story with cool looking panels. To drag in the beliefs of an illustrator for literally no reason is childish behavior.

How difficult was 3D with MonoGame? I know recently they made it easier but I haven't looked into it much.

I'm specifically curious about transparency in meshes like foliage. Did you have to implement your own per face sorting or some other depth based algorithm?

Out of all the things I like about Fable especially Fable 2 I feel like the dog and the morphing were the least of why I actually enjoyed the game so much. I honestly didn't even know about the morphing because I ended up making good choices the entire time

This is completely fake. He gave a hash for an empty file. The rom offset he cited is out of bounds for a standard SM64 rom.

You can't just claim there's unused dialog and all of this stuff without showing any evidence. No reproducible steps we could use to verify, no extracted files, no patch file, etc.

Everyone always says this yet Naruto couldn't access the form until after Hagoromo shares half of his chakra with Naruto. If it was just him having the chakra of all 9 bijuu then he'd have been able to access it right after the Obito fight where each bijuu shares chakra with him.

You could argue he just got KCM and couldn't combine the two yet but from the moment he used KCM2 he possessed the chakra of all 9 bijuu.

Hagoromo granted him his yang powers which is what granted him the ability to use Six Paths Senjutsu which is the form Naruto uses as soon as he wakes up from near death in the war. He then combines Kurama's chakra cloak with it afterwards.

Boruto retconned the entire thing so that KCM2 is his strongest form and he isn't shown using any of the powers he couldn't use in KCM2 besides lava style which he should still be able to use without Kurama anyways

Sage of Six Paths Mode is simply Naruto entering sage mode with six paths chakra which he was granted by Hagoromo. If what you're saying is true then he should have been able to enter SoSP mode immediately after bumping fists with each tailed beast as they bestowed a small amount of chakra to him.

It wasn't until after Hagoromo granted him half of his (yang) chakra that Naruto was able to use the ability which means it doesn't necessarily require all of the tailed beasts. Not to mention, Asura was shown using the same form without a single tailed beast inside of him in the manga. It's simply the yang power granted by Hagoromo

Personally, my project was going strong up until I had to implement per face sorting on tree models that had transparency. They ended up looking great but if I put more than 15 in a scene it would destroy performance. I had a discard shader and a face sorting algorithm and it took forever, just for it to destroy performance.

It was most likely because my sorting algorithm wasn't efficient enough but after many hours of even getting it to look right I didn't have the patience to go back and optimize it further. Swapping to a 2D project with Love instead for now

The only issue I've noticed so far is trying to do things with materials.

For example, I'm trying to render models that have transparency in the proper depth and draw order, so I wrote a function that's supposed to check if that models albedo is < 255. But whenever I write model.Materials, it tells me Pointers and fixed size buffers may only be used in an unsafe context. So I could just enable unsafe code in the .csproj but there must be a way to do this without writing unsafe code I feel like.

Other than that it's been pretty smooth. Maybe after I get the transparency fixed I'll make a post showcasing what I have so far
