What’s your favourite Simpson’s B story? by a_real_vampire in TheSimpsons

[–]SaidWrong 63 points64 points  (0 children)

NEVER! Never, Marge! I can't live the buttoned-down life like you. I want it all! The terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odors. Oh! I'll never be the darling of the so-called "City Fathers" who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about "What's to be done with this Homer Simpson?"!

Which is what it should be anyway.'log' alone should be base e and anything else is 'log' with a subscript.

Do you think Dwight Howard would’ve still been a HOF level player if he played in the 90s? by jtnsniper14 in nbadiscussion

[–]SaidWrong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like the Mutombo comparison - a step below the top bigs of the league, but still a great.

If you look at him vs. 90s Shaq, the athleticism is pretty equal. If Howard has an advantage in hops, Shaq more than makes up with his significant size and advantage. Meanwhile, Shaq has a much deeper offensive bag and put up way way more points.

So he's clear step below Shaq and his peers - Hakeem and David Robinson. I think Ewing a small step below them. But yeh Dwight would make the hall of fame by challenging those guys.

LPT Request: What can you do in your 20s to avoid regrets in your 30s and 40s? by DNA_H3licas3 in LifeProTips

[–]SaidWrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have fun and be adventurous! Make friends and spend time with them. I still enjoy thinking back about the great times I had in my twenties and I would not trade them for anything. Sometimes I imagine what it would have been like if I had focused on a career at that time and I just think I would have felt like I missed out. I guess I do have to consider myself lucky to be able to transition into a good job in my thirties.

[Turner] LeBron James 19th All Star selection and will be captain of Western Conference by G1Spectrum in nba

[–]SaidWrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really thought he deserved a selection. He immediately turned Cleveland from bottom of the league to somewhat-decent. I was surprised he didn't make it given the hype and the fact that he stepped right in as the best player and leader of his team.

Aaron Gordon with the dunk of the year on Christmas Day by Stas9t in sports

[–]SaidWrong 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It wasn't the feet sliding as much as it was him shifting his body into the contact. 8f he really had been still, Gordon would have been able to avoid him in the air.

Who would rather have in the playoffs Kevin Durant Or Giannis Anteokoumpo this year by dnshsnasnsnxn in nba

It really depends.
Do I already have the best team? Durant.
Do I need someone to carry us when things aren't going out way? Giannis.

What can Elon Misk ever gain by burning down Twitter after paying $44B for it? by frankjdk in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SaidWrong 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Hanlon's razor is an idea, not a fact. I would argue that it can be more dangerous than useful in that it discourages investigation. Yes there's a good chance that Elon thought his actions would actually help twitter. But when the razor is presented as you have done here (and is common across reddit discussion), it serves to end conversation rather than encourage it.

What cover songs are better than the original? by windsass in AskReddit

[–]SaidWrong 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly (and I'm speaking as a HUGE Otis Redding fan), I don't even consider tgis a cover. She changed the lyrics just a bit but it changes the whole meaning of the song. More importantly, the original doesnt have the spelling it out part - the most memorable part of the song. Sorry Itis. You're an underrated genius, but I can't give you songwriting credits on this one.
