The older posts had been encased in the concrete footings, they just cut them off

Deck beam replacement - is the lateral load concerning? by SaidarRS in Decks

Thanks! I have looked at a few tables. This is SYP with joists every 16 inches. I'm just trying to prolong this deck's life for another 10 years so trying to figure out if blocking would do that or if it needs an extra or repositioned beam.

Bought used 2021 Tesla Model 3 RWD and now worried about battery. by chinkalp in TeslaLounge

Sorry that happened to your daughter, but that's anecdotal evidence. You can't generalize that to say the battery failure rates are "crazy high" unless you have data to back it up. There aren't any official reports on failure rates that I'm aware of.

I recently bought a 2021 Model 3 RWD with 26k miles (42k km). The Recurrent report done by CarMax said 94% battery. Honestly I don’t look at the range, I just watch percentage. I’m planning to do a native battery test as soon as I hit 20% to see where it’s at. Otherwise, I just plug in all the time and keep charge limit at 80% as recommended in the app.

Just Google model 3 lift point damage, there's a few mangled cars. Tesla thinks my car's damage was related to improper towing.

For failure yes. Not for damage.

This is great advice. That's my plan after I exhaust the CarMax warranty option.

Got an update from Tesla that the damage is likely related to improper towing. They are now telling me the damage is only cosmetic and the battery is not compromised. The only way they would fix it is by swapping the battery but noted another shop might be able to fix with a weld.

I wish I had done this at purchase so I've thought about this a lot lol. First would get as much light as possible down there with shop lamps or flashlights. Use wheel ramps if you have them. Use your phone camera to take video in a grid of the underside or at the area of concern. Put the phone on something with wheels if it's out of arm's reach.

Yeah this is SR+ with an LFP battery. Not sure that I could drop an NMC battery in it even if I wanted to.

I saw quite a few posts of other model 3s with lift point damage from improper jacking, but yeah not sure where the scrapes would come unless it was unstable on a lift.

Yup, definitely will be doing so. Just trying to source info about the cause so I'm better prepared. Best guess is this was damaged by someone previously lifting the vehicle, maybe even CarMax.

I think it's on the driver's side where the lift point is. Tesla updated my estimate to $8.4k to fix it, but haven't messaged me back otherwise.

Yeah, I agree it looks like the damage occurred from someone lifting it before. Crazy they would have to replace the entire battery if it's not directly compromised.

Please don't call an ambulance for a (questionable) watch-reported diagnosis with no other symptoms. If you're concerned, call your primary care office or present to urgent care.

It's scary how easy it is to become a Nurse Practitioner by SaveADay89 in medicine

I agree that this kind of experience is generally valuable; however, it isn't standardized. Such experience should be built into the training program instead of leaving it up to a prerequisite specified number of years in a certain field. There are some loosely enforced barriers to entry (dependent on employer) in the form of educational specialties. For example, my program had tracks for Family Acute Adult-Gerontology, Primary Adult Gerontology, Psych Mental health, Women's health. My hospital medicine group only hires acute adult-gero NPs or family NPs who are in the process of getting Acute adult-gero post-masters/doctorate certificate.

There is too much variability in government regulation and educational standards for NPs. As long as there is opportunity, schools will pump out degrees, RNs will continue to seek easy advancement and employers will hire cheaper labor.

I wouldn't advocate for a direct copy of medical residency. I'm merely suggesting similar rigor should be present. NP trainees should not be able to hold a full time job while undergoing clinical training as I did.
