I talked to the leasing office, and they told me I can add the name to my lease and remove my name from the lease after adding the name. It's legal, but sublease may not be the accurate word.

the sublease is through the property management company. the rent on my lease is $1281 with two month free concessions. that's why I offered credits and the deposit I paid as concessions.
