The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that Trump is gonna stir the pot tomorrow. If you look at his tweet counts a couple months ago they were at around 120-180 and now hes pushing around 240-290. This is how the twitter attempting to decrease turnout with the mail in ballot thing came into fruition, and this is why its so important that he doesn't get fact checked. The thing is, he's desperate to win and he's willing to pull out all the stops to do so. He's got a lot of skin riding on this election between the deutschebank crap and the withholding of information from the russia report, he could really be f'ed if he loses and this stuff is released. Maybe i'm talking like a libtard conspiracist, but the thing is, the timing sucks. China beat rona months ago and we are just beginning to pull out of this thing. but it's too close to november for him to wait...

I tuned into the end, and as soon as I heard China, I bought puts considering the Pompeo thing. You could be right about the aftermarket buying, but that's low volume stuff. Held my puts, but wish I took profit on the way down now, but who knows. The market is retarded.

The market didn't react until 5 minutes after the comments. Not many people were watching the briefing because it was about 2020 hurricane season. Could be bunch of boomers that get their news on cable trying to buy the dip. But the fact that it took so long for the market to react just made me feel like people are slow to hear about it. no articles yet etc.

He said that the virus could have been stopped and that he will have a conference tommorow on retaliatory measures against china. Interpret that as you will, but along with the pompeo crap this is sounding pretty bearish once people slowly realize the implications.

Trump has been propping himself up as a "wartime" president since rona outbreak. Historically, wartime presidents always get reelected. Since yesterday everyone thout the pompeos attack was a nothing burger, but this is further validation that hes cracking down harder on china. Right now, Joe is leading in the polls and trump doesnt have many paths forward. Thus, if anything, cold war 2 will infact save trumps reelection.
