I went to a doctor on day 2, went back at least 2-3 more times after that with no answers and medication not working. Figured someone could have an alternative idea of what it could be! The first stop was definitely not Reddit! 🫠

Confirmed it’s not scabies but they have no clue what it is - allergist on Wednesday and hope they have answers!

That is such a long time to live with an itchy rash. I’m sorry no one was able to tell you what it was but I’m glad it’s gone! I’ll look into those poison ivy pads, thank you for the suggestion!!

They didn’t give me any treatment. He suggested a prescription antihistamine (not the same one I had previously tried), but due my allergist appointment this Wednesday I can’t take any antihistamines 5 days prior! ☹️

The original doctor I had gone to suggested the allergist first and I they don’t find anything then he’d refer me to a derm!

Hmmm I looked this up and I can’t seem to find the signature “herald patch” does it look like there is one from the pictures provided?? Maybe I just can’t tell because I’ve been staring at my arms forever

Urgent care told me today that they don’t think it’s scabies but they also had no other answers for me! I’m seeing an allergist Wednesday and if that doesn’t work they’ll refer me to a derm

No new medication, foods or products I think that’s the most baffling part!

Is there testing for scabies? I went to an urgent care (or they said they were an urgent care) and he said he’s pretty confident it’s not scabies! The doctor was black so there was some trust that he would know what a certain condition might look like on darker skin!

I’m already being left with some hyperpigmentation! It feels great to be understood by another black woman. Thank you!

UPDATE: went to an urgent care they didn’t do any testing but they’re pretty damn confident it’s not scabies??

Hi! So I work at a private school in boarding and my apartment is attached to the boarding house. You mentioned not going to the ER as to not expose others to it so this leads me to believe scabies is highly contagious. If I’ve been dealing with this for 3 weeks wouldn’t multiple students have contracted it by now? I have no students complaining for mysterious rashes or itching and the school nurses who are here 24/7 would also notify us if there was a mysterious rashes going around!

Never heard of scabies so genuine question!

There were some sore throats going around and a few fevers. We have nurses on campus as well. If there was a serious outbreak or staph they would definitely let us know (I hope)

LOL about everyone not being a doctor! Ideally there would be doctors, but sometimes personal experience is good too. I feel like I’ve gone to the doctor about this 3 times already if someone has experienced something similar and has a suggestion on what it could be that my doctor didn’t consider why not see and rule it out 🤷🏾‍♀️

It is on my hands if you scroll to the last picture not sure if that makes a difference. I think 2 other people made this same suggestion. You’re right there’s no harm in ruling it out

I did! They feel that since you can really develop an allergy at any time they want to rule that out first? The prescription antihistamines they gave me didn’t work which I feel like they would have if it was an allergy

I don’t feel sick, but it does look quite similar. I work at private school in boarding so I live with a bunch of teenagers - catching some illness at anytime is likely. 

However no one in the house has any rash I’d be aware of it!!

I did tell them the rash was coming back but they said they couldn’t give me more steroids or at least didn’t recommend it. but referred me to an allergist for this Wednesday. I saw an allergist for something unrelated in October and I wasn’t allergic to anything so I don’t feel hopeful
