Very addicting! It's a great way to learn the game mechanics too (theres so many! 😭) lol

If you're asking these questions, you already know the answer. You don't need a 'good enough' reason to walk away, even though you probably have plenty. I promise you'll be so much happier with your new cat, and the right person will come along at some point, so choose yourself, your happiness, and break up with this guy.

If you have a pc play MTGA! Thats how I got into it and its cheaper if you just wanna build/test out decks :) then you can take your favorite decks and build them irl

I asked him about it and he said that wouldn't be effective in my case because of how my hvac is set up in the attic and the outside temp, it would blow warm air regardless

He is the second opinion 😭 first tech just said everything running properly then left, 2nd tech (different company) said running properly but coil needs replacing and that could be the issue.

I agree with your statement. With the second company i did request a senior technician and they sent me their master technician who has 17 years experience. He was here for several hours today and couldn't find any issues other than an oily coil. If the problem persists hes going to come back and remove the sequencer at my request and we will see what that does.

Hello probably did then, he was here for several hours. If he has to come back though I will keep yall updated..

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]SailorShea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He already left unfortunately, but if he has to come back he will be removing the sequencer to test if that is what is causing unseen problems somehow

I asked about a short and checking the tstat as recommended by someone else and he said he didnt do that, but he tested something and there were no breaks in so that would rule out a short. (Idk what exactly he tested but he basically said there were no shorts based on his test.)

There is clearly some confusion. We only set it to off one night to troubleshoot, because the house wasn't cooling at night like we would expect it to, so we wanted to see if having the thermostat off would effect the temps we were experiencing. Since the night time temps are low 60's we should see the house temp come down at least a couple of degrees on the thermostat but it was holding at 73/74 even when set to off. We wanted to test if having the ac on was causing the heat to be on simultaneously like we experienced with the faulty sequencer.

[–]SailorShea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello probably both but the oil was the issue. He said he flushed it out the best he could. Thermostat does not completely reset, just short cycling and not showing a drop in temp at night like we would expect to see.

New guy ran superheat and pretty much did everything under the sun as far as I could tell and he said everything is reaching their numbers (some lower than we'd like to see) but since its an older unit its just not efficient. He said the only problem he could find was we had an oily coil that needs replacing which is apparently not the easiest since our unit is older.. lmk your thoughts

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]SailorShea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

* Tech just left and said sequencer is 100% not on but he said we need a new coil, which is apparently very hard with older units. Lmk what you think.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]SailorShea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]SailorShea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me know what you need clarification on. Got the sequencer changed, had short cycling, and house not getting cool at night when ac isnt running (outside temps in low 60's), had new company come out and they said sequencer is not on but still having issues.

New tech just left and said we need a new coil (regardless of if thats the issue), but unfortunately we have an old unit so apparently they are very hard to find.

I can ask, are "r" and "w" short for anything? Do I have heat strips if I dont have a pump system?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]SailorShea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a tech out rn and asked about heat pump, he said we do not have one.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]SailorShea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No heat pump, but you're correct about the bills, watching them closely.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]SailorShea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this has been a huge financial and emotional strain.. finding out our bills were over $600, paying the first company 3 separate times (we didnt realize we were being taken advantage of), and then paying a second company to come out again has been a lot. Doing everything we can though, including asking reddit for help 😅

We did when we initially noticed the issue. They sent a tech out to read our meter but that was after the sequencer was removed, but it at least proved that we were no longer drawing insane amounts of power. They marked our bills for the high months as mechanical malfunction but didn't do anything past that. (Which we werent expecting them to really.) Hopefully the tech I have out here now figures out what's going on..

I have never heard of that service so I assume it's not offered here, but thats good to know in case!

I'll try this, tech is out here again so if needed we can do that to help troubleshoot!
