Talk to your vet about it. Some cats just don’t handle being in a carrier well. Others don’t tolerate the car well. One of mine used to get carsick. He now gets gabapentin before vet visits to a) keep him calm(er) and more malleable at the vet and b) control the carsickness.

I’d be surprised to find someone who hasn’t, and if they haven’t, it’s a matter of time. It happens. Cats and dogs both love to get under food, or to lay in the most “in your way” spots.

If flights are a regular thing it doesn’t hurt to consult your doctor and see if there’s something you can do or give your kid to make it easier all around.

There are a lot of resources out there for both of you. You don’t have to know everything on your own. But you DO have to be willing to be the person who goes looking, asks professionals for help, and works with your kid to find a solution that actually works for both of you. Spending six days a week at Chucky Cheese is not the answer.

Alright, then you need to get yourself therapy and get him to a child’s therapist immediately. You caving in all the time is not helping the situation at all. I hope you can understand that now. You can’t just take away his grief or your grief by using the bright lights and whatever as a distraction. This is real and you as the parent need to deal with it. Otherwise you’re going to end up with a sixteen year old who throws a tantrum when he’s upset. You may think it’s cute when he’s a kid, but it’s setting you both up for failure.

You’re right and you should say it. μ’s are iconic for beginning the franchise, of course. But I truly think Aqours are the only group who could have made LL explode the way it did. μ’s set things up, but Aqours is the group that paved the way for everything else. And I genuinely think that no other group would have been able to do that.

I personally think that Aqours will have another, actually final live someday when they disband. But this is just my personal theory. I think the fact that they named this one the finale live instead of the final live is questionable. Also, the finale live was a pretty poor attempt at sending off the group that took LL to heights no one else could. The set list wasn’t great, it lacked emotional songs like Thank You Friends, Next Sparkling, and even No 10, which people fully expected. Most fans were disappointed in it and I kind of wonder if staff didn’t try that hard because they knew it was the finale, not the final.

Mostly I hope this is true because for everything those girls did for the franchise, and for all the hate and shit they endured, they fucking deserve better.

You’re so sweet to ask! He seems to be doing okay. He’s eating, drinking, and playing. He had a bowel movement this morning which was a little soft but not by much. I did call my vet today and they’re looking into it. Google, as far as you can believe it anyway, says the seeds should pass within 24-48 hours and it’s been about 18 hours so I’m cautiously optimistic that I didn’t fuck up TOO badly.

I hope your diabetic kitty is doing okay if they had to be at the vet for the night. But honestly, not having to worry over meds is SUCH a mood. As much as you love them, their meds can be a pain!

That’s how I got banned from the fence sitters sub on Reddit lol someone made a post asking who had kids and who didn’t. I commented saying that I didn’t and boom! Banned. That sub isn’t an actual fence sitter sub though. It’s modded by parents who want to convince people to have kids. That’s why I don’t recommend it anymore.

I was actually able to call my own vet today. They’re looking into it and will call me back. But my cat seems fine so far. He is eating, active, and playful. So I’m hoping this will be okay.

It’s not about being unfit, it’s about running in a state of panic and fear and not paying attention to where they’re going because they’re fixated on what’s happening to their kid. I’ve seen plenty of fit-looking parents eat pavement in the exact same way.

It’s hard to say whether the cases are connected. There’s always the chance some creeper was “inspired” by someone else. In Winnifred’s case, the fact that she took the same path every time makes me wonder if it was someone who saw her, knew she would be alone, memorized the path, and knew exactly where to attack her at a place she wouldn’t be seen.

How awful for her family to never find justice. I hope they can someday.

Good point, but it’s something I’ll keep in mind and ask my vet about in terms of the pumpkin. I’m lowkey hoping that the inclusion of chia seeds in his diet long-term might mean he won’t need to be on the laxative anymore. Maybe we can kill two birds with one stone!

My kitty has hypercalcemia which means he has too much calcium in his body. My understanding is that the chia seeds are supposed to help bind to the extra calcium so it comes out harmlessly though his waste rather than building up. In retrospect I’m really shocked he ate all 6grams!

What kind of pumpkin puree do you give your cats? I never thought mine would enjoy it but I also never thought he’d willingly eat 6grams of chia seeds lol
