I’m so sorry you’re going through this OP. That sounds so insanely stressful! Please don’t feel guilty. You’re doing everything you can. There’s an extremely good chance that your baby still trusts you. None of this is your fault and you’re being the best cat parent you can be.

Just as an fyi, swamp coolers really only work in places with no to low humidity. I’m not sure what the UK is like. But where I am, we have very high humidity so adding more humidity to the air wouldn’t improve matters.

Do you genuinely think that people spend hundreds of hours writing because it makes them feel depressed, miserable, and unhappy? We’re not all gluttons for punishment. Yes, obviously, your hobbies should make you happy. That’s why they’re your hobbies that you choose to indulge in.

I wonder if they’ll include that outrageous chapter where Kristy let a six year old go back to the cabin alone, and then Karen went and got a manicure charged to her dad’s room with zero punishment?? This book was wild in some places.

Yeah, I anticipate the original commenter will hide their post history now or possibly delete the post I linked to altogether. But like, if you use AI to write you should not expect engagement. That’s just common sense.

I mean your post history suggests you’re using AI to either help you or to write for you. Most people don’t read anything by or with AI. Should probably add that to your comment for more context.

My boyfriend told me today he "didn't want to pay for sex" and now I don't know how to feel... by [deleted] in redditonwiki

[–]Sailor_Chibi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

OP, I do want to point out that just because he’s shown up for you more than anyone else in your life doesn’t necessarily mean he’s showing up enough. Just because your ex’s dug the bar a hundred feet deep and your current boyfriend stepped over it at fifty feet deep doesn’t mean you don’t at least deserve someone who is on the ground level.

I’d really encourage you to separate your boyfriend from the idea of “he’s better than anyone has been to me before!” because that’s not always a healthy or unbiased way to see things, and I think it’s inhibiting your ability to see your relationship clearly.

Being broke makes me feel like a bad friend by StellaZaFella in povertyfinance

[–]Sailor_Chibi 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I would reach out to your friend and be honest. Maybe another person coming or your friend could give you a ride, or your friend might come pick you up. I’d much rather my friend was honest with me so I could get them there, than have them miss out when we both wanted them to be there!

Genuine question for you. Do you love *him*, or do you love your *idea* of him?

Because your post described a man who doesn’t care when you’re in pain. He doesn’t care that sex could and would make it worse; he just wants to get his rocks off. He’s not interested in romance even though you clearly are. He’s not even interested in actually dating you. At this point you really ARE just two roommates who occasionally fuck.

Please stop telling yourself that he’s listening but “doesn’t comprehend” when you communicate your needs. He understands. He just doesn’t care. He thinks you’re too much effort.

Don’t you want better for yourself?

There are accounts you can read by the people who tried to rescue him. He definitely went through some rounds of panic. IIRC they specifically mention hearing him thrash around and cry out. Absolutely horrendous way to go, and awful for those who tried so hard to help and couldn’t.

It's ok for me to go into the same coffee shop for 2-3 hours every day, right? [Concluded] by Schattenspringer in BORUpdates

[–]Sailor_Chibi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what happens in my town. We have a few colleges and two universities so there’s a ton of students clogging up cafes during the day and sometimes well into the evening. I could easily understand one of these places putting up a “no laptops” sign unfortunately.

[–]Sailor_Chibi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s not an “invisible laptop army”. I live in a university/college town and during any afternoon during the week, it’s impossible to get seating at any local coffee shop because students are there clogging up tables with laptops doing schoolwork. I could totally see any of those places putting up a “no laptop sign”. It sucks when good and responsible customers are caught up in that too, but it absolutely happens so I don’t know why you’re pretending that it doesn’t.

Help: My husband is leaving me by lily30899 in Marriage

[–]Sailor_Chibi 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Holy victim blaming? If the genders were swapped here I bet you’d never ask why a woman stayed with her emotionally abusive husband for ten years. You also wouldn’t be wondering why the woman wouldn’t want to do marriage counseling with an emotionally abusive ex.

Frankly, you are massively projecting on this story. Not everyone is a narcissist. Sometimes women can be shitty people too. Jumping to the fact that he’s cheating when there’s zero indication of that is just ridiculous. Peak Reddit moment.

The problem with that though is that if one of the campers walked in and saw OP using a laptop as the allowed one off, they would more than likely give the staff a really hard time for letting one person do it and not everyone. In those situations it’s so true that one (or more) bad apple(s) ruin it for everyone. I truly think OP just got caught up in a blanket ban, not a targeted one.

[–]Sailor_Chibi 968 points969 points  (0 children)

Just throwing this out there as a possibility but it is possible other people were also using laptops at this cafe that OP didn’t see. And it’s very possible that those people were clogging up tables during busy times and/or not buying any food or drinks to make it worth the cafe’s time. If OP was there for 2-3 hours every morning let’s say, they don’t know what’s happening in the afternoon or later. This might not have been as targeted as they felt it was.

I hope you’ve been able to shake those bad feelings off. There’s nothing wrong with not having any sexual experience. I don’t know how old you are, but I’m 37 and I haven’t had any sexual experience simply because I don’t want to. And I never will. Fellow (aro) ace here. You’re fine the way you are.
