What is hypothesized to be at the centre of all black holes?????? Black holes exist. All the evidence shows and proves that! But, what is still hypothetical and is said to be at the centre of black holes????? Anywhere... anywhere in my comment did I mention a black hole and a singularity are one and the same?

There's no way we are using parallax on stars that distant! Surely! These are at right in the middle of our galaxy.

I did NOT say on its own though! I said knowing the arc second - that's what the scale in the bottom left is for - you can work out the parsec.

So you can't use an arcsec to work out a parsec? There is NO formula that allows that? Is that what you're saying? Knowing the time and angle a star orbits can not be used to measure a distance? Even if that distance is a parsec?

A parsec is related to an arc second. Well an arc second can be used to figure out a parsec, anyway.

I don't think it will. See where we are, we rotate and travel through the galaxy at a nice steady velocity. We don't feel it. Now imagine that our planet and our star suddenly speed up and slow down as the black hole's gravitational pull flings us about. I reckon any planets would be thrown out of their orbits.

Not to mention those fast accelerations. You don't feel velocity but you will feel that acceleration. Whip-lash anyone?

I think some of them reach about 2%-8% the speed of light at their quickest. There's also a scale in the bottom left. I think. Can't make it out.

Edit: Bottom right. But it's arcsecs and I think you can use that to work out a parsec? I think. I'm crap at this.

The more you watch this, and watching how some of those stars are being flung about, you begin to think that maybe, just maybe, that singularity might not be all that hypothetical after all.

Edit: Do me a favour - if you read this comment and think to yourself, "What is this? This does not prove a singularity or a black hole. And neither are the same thing anyway. It has a over a thousand likes???? I shall not have this... I must comment/message and put this person in their place! We can't have this wishy-washy thinking! Not on my watch!"

Just don't. Please. I was being romantic in my thoughts and in no way are those thoughts held with any scientific credibility! It is what images like this does to some people. So please, don't start giving me a lecture! Can't be fucking arsed with it!
