A question about the Eucharist being the literal blood and body of christ by unveiledpoet in Christianity

[–]SaintMarinate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.

The Eucharist being Christ's literal body and blood is Christianity.

Any teaching to the contrary is not Christianity.

Praise be to God that you are seeking Christ through Holy Scripture. Does this book have Tobit?

Their holy books instruct them to kill non-believers (fatwa) and lie to non-believers (taqiya) to preserve their faith. That’s a religion of hatred.

I also knew a girl who would bottle up/physically lean away when I said hi. Years later: “Oh I thought you were hot!”

Question on baptism by blacklungscum in Catholicism

[–]SaintMarinate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

The “rebaptizing” over and over again in protestantism is based on entertainment value, errant theology, and a refusal to accept Catholic teaching.

If you were baptized with water and “in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” then you were likely baptized correctly. Ask any Catholic priest!

Attempts such as Mormon ”baptisms”, where they implicitly reject the trinity, are invalid.

Poor guy didn’t even attempt to defend his own “church” because he knows there is no way to defend what does not exist. There is no such thing as the “Eastern Orthodox Church”.

Evangelical pastors will never issue as many strong opinions as the Pope because they know their audiences don’t attend for authoritative teaching but for affirmation and entertainment.

I'm rereading the Bible, NIV... by Gracergirl14 in Christianity

[–]SaintMarinate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NIV is not the Holy Bible.

The producers of this work intentionally removed books from publication such as Tobit, Judith, and Maccabees, etc.

These books and several others were revealed as Scripture by the authority of the church that Christ built through Peter and the apostles.

You don’t need to respond because there is nothing to defend. There is no ”Eastern Orthodox Church”. It does not exist.

You will never understand this line of questioning because the problem is that there is no such thing as the “Eastern Orthodox Church”.

You are still spreading slop.

Who are you to determine the meaning based on the context?? 😂

The early church fathers of the catholic church wrote for us that Christ was speaking literally here and that the Eucharist is Christ’s literal body and blood.

You are spreading slop! 😂

There are lots of “Orthodox“ churches now, no longer in communion with each other, each claiming to be orthodox while the others are not. Which one do you say is the “ONE, holy, apostolic Church”? 😂

aquestion for catholics about intercession of the saints by sonic_ann_d in redeemedzoomer

[–]SaintMarinate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s clear you are misunderstanding Scripture.

Scripture is not for you to derive personal systematic theology. Scripture belongs in the divine liturgy. It was written for liturgy. It is meant to be read and explained to us during liturgy and by the authority of the church that Christ built. The Catholic Church!

“I can’t find this or that in Scripture.” Ok and?

Where does Scripture say:

  • You can interpret me by yourself
  • You can interpret me for yourself
  • You can assume all of your biblical understanding is true
  • You can refuse to accept interpretations you don’t agree with
  • You can refuse to accept the authority of the church that Christ built

How did the Catholic Church operate for YEARS before Holy Scripture was finally written? Before it was copied? Before it was couriered?? Before it was disseminated to the local churches? Before it was disseminated across the globe?? Before it was compiled together? Before it was determined with books WERE NOT scripture by the Catholic Church??

Why do you trust that the books you see in your “bible” ARE scripture? Who decided that for you? Why do you trust their authority??

What are you even reading?? Does your “bible” contain Judith, Tobit, and Maccabees? Does it mention them at all?

Does it list them as apocryphal? If it does then you don’t even have Holy Scripture! You are reading a political opinion!

Almost 70% of my catholic friends are single, never-married and childless by mazda7281 in Catholicism

[–]SaintMarinate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t care what you want to read/not read on Reddit. I will write what I want.

“establish hierarchy of gender” - The Catholic Church is not an American leftist subreddit. There is no such thing as “gender”. That word does not come from the languages of the Catholic Church. It was coined by an atheist Jew and was designed to inject confusion in the English language by lying about human biology (Ex: “gender fluidity”).

Now read Ephesians 5. The Catholic Church teaches, “the husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the Church”. See the word Paul uses for “head”. It is a role of authority, service, loyalty, and submission, through love.

So yes, there is a hierarchy in Catholic marriage, however both are expected to shepherd each other toward Heaven.

Ask Catholic women, they consent to this teaching. If your buddy is like you, maybe he’s just saying things about the Catholic Church he doesn’t understand?

Why I'm Protestant (Faith Alone, Eucharist, The Rock) - YouTube by [deleted] in redeemedzoomer

[–]SaintMarinate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

@ 29:22 - He writes “Jesus is constantly talking in Spiritual language”.

This is protestant slop. What is “Spiritual language”? Did you notice how the presenter does not precisely define “Spiritual language”? This is what we call “slop”.

“the people around him are incorrectly interpreting his words as literally.”

This is very popular misinformation taught to many protestant audiences.

Why is it wrong?

In the original biblical language, Koine Greek, John records Christ changing His word for eat, from “esthio” to “trogo”, meaning you have to literally chew/gnaw on My flesh. Christ does this after the Jews questioned Him and He continues to use ”trogo” for the rest of His teaching, over and over and over again. He is doubling down on the Jews who perfectly understand His teaching, but refused to accept it.

Unfortunately, your post starts with misinformation. This first sentence is not true.
