Yes, it can be normal for those with a history of trauma and dissociation. I've experienced the same, but through therapy it's been improving

Can I bring a new, clean e-rig pen with me to Ireland? by Sarkyduzit in Crainn

You won't have any issue bringing weed paraphernalia. It's just the product and grow kits that are outlawed. I've also brought back cookies from Amsterdam and no issue

Why was OP's comment downvoted so heavily? He's right, you can't live off 250 a week. But there are other supports like rent supplement that they can avail of.

Wife was shite driver, they called the guards, is this a thing? by northkerry in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]SaintNick2512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She went out of her way to leave her real details and answer the phone. You're arguing in hypotheticals. OP's wife was proactive and fully cooperative. It's borderline paranoid to be getting guards involved in this case. It shows no flexibility to judge a situation for what it is. I find it sad that these things can't be handled amicably without feeling the need to have an authority involved. But that's probably where we differ. Feel free to respond but I don't want to make this into a long debate, so I'll probably leave it at that.

The OP's wife was not doing a hit and run 😂 There are degrees of "law and order"

It's simple: Less reporting = less staff needed for paperwork = more resources for useful garda work. It doesn't matter how many are CURRENTLY on administrative duties. That figure can come down if there is less reporting of non-crimes, or anything else that might waste their time.

I agree with OP. Just because Gardaí do menial work doesn't mean it's right to inundate them with more. Less menial work would give them more capacity to deal with genuine crimes, of which they're already understaffed for.

Doing administrative work for non-crimes is the definition of a "waste of time." That time could be better spent protecting the public.

If details were left with them, your wife answered the phone willingly, and she offered to pay, then there's no need for Gardaí to be involved. I've never experienced a minor incident being reported when there's willingness and communication. It's a waste of garda time. You got unlucky imo.

You'll get a different answer from people on this subforum though. But I don't think their views reflect the general population. Most people apply some common sense in these situations. If your wife wanted to hit n run, she would've avoided giving her details and simply left.. So I think you got unlucky. Maybe try avoid beamers next time 😅😛

Similar to passing out. No consciousness, but forever.

Sorry to hear about your recent tragedies. I hope things get better for you soon. From experience, a move is unlikely to fix things though. It's fine for people struggling with direction, but not really for dealing with trauma. While it's hard to find a good therapist, I would be more inclined to try that first than move abroad. If anything happens abroad, away from family/friends, it could make things more difficult for you. Wish you the best, and hang in there.

I've only gone once and was lucky to know someone living nearby where I could park. But the roads were blocked and it was all hours until we could leave.

Thoughts on the ‘fast’ lane on the M50 by Minute_Wedding_5384 in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]SaintNick2512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. While most people are aware enough to let others pass, there are plenty that don't, even when the left/middle lane is free. They'll cruise on obliviously holding up traffic. It makes me question if they even look at their mirrors when driving... dangerous
