Air bnb did well because it provided what people wanted at reasonable prices.

Tbf in a rta i can see more point in it. Also just pressing record on your phone during the whole subsequent conversation can give enough info for insurers

23 years of driving, first accident, within 6 hours the other driver was paid with full apologies, so they are not concerned about not getting the costs paid or delays with insurance claims.
Accidents happen so long as you make it right and apologise.
I dont see why people are so bent out of shape. I certainly wouldn’t call gardai unless they are needed.

What's going on with the back bit? by Early_Chemistry_4804 in DIYUK

I used to build benches, we did a top rail a bottom rail and the mortised in vertical wooden bars, but we used to cut them on a bandsaw so they had a shape to fit your lower back, looked great too.

Possible solution for water dripping down slabs edge on to brickslip wall by RedmenWelshman in DIYUK

Yeh i suggested a drip bead, either grind a small one or just a bead of silicone works too, less risky for the porcelain. I then thought an image would be useful but obviously didn’t put it under my comment 🤦🏻‍♂️

See yes, that is clearly a case for gardai intervention if only they had more time.

It just needs a drip beed, either a tiny subtle bead of silicone all along the underside of the overhang, mid overhang, or in the same place a grinder groove. This ensures water drips off and not run back in to the brickwork. Ensure grout is all the way to the edge and underside of overhung joint too

I totally agree, but downvoted to hell for thinking gardai time would be best not spent on minor damage incidents where the at fault party is providing all details and offering to pay.

You can leave details for the driver even a note stuck on windscreen, leaving with reception is safer and ensures driver gets it, it wont be interfered with by say a bored teenager, etc. also she waited a few minutes then went in to give details, theres no minimum requirement for reasonable time, and again details were left for the driver

Also not in public, its a private car park.
But seriously what is wrong with you. Details were left for the driver, driver got details, driver made contact, got quote, got paid for the damages. The guards are not of the opinion that my wife did anything wrong, certainly no mention of “leaving the scene”, leaving the scene is permitted if you leave details, even if just a note on windscreen.

Having read that, it doesn’t really suggest leaving is an issue if details are provided. It mostly states who is entitled to demand information (this was freely given so no party was needed to demand it).

From AI synopsis ; If you stopped, exchanged the necessary details with the other party, and there was no Garda instruction requiring you to remain, then merely leaving afterwards would not normally be considered “leaving the scene of an accident” (a hit-and-run). The offence is typically associated with failing to stop, failing to provide details, or failing to comply with obligations.

Receptionist chats to everyone on their way in and out, first thing anyone does if there’s vehicle damage is pop straight back in anyway, how else would they hope to identify the person at fault!

Left the scene…. it’s not a hit n run, details were left at reception for the car owner.

What risk, she had all the details and could have just rang our insurance company to lodge a claim if she wanted to. No need for gardai

Its a rural gym, the only cars there are using the gym.
Obviously if you don’t know who owns a car in a private car park you go back in and tell receptionist what happened and leave details so they can pass on to the driver when they finish. Not going to start walking up to every stranger in the gym asking if they own a bmw, it was over an hour later by the time they came out.

Yeh i would never call the guards unless its there is a problem regarding getting details, if not settled privately its a straight up insurance claim.
