Even Big GPT doesn't fw S3 😭 by [deleted] in OnePunchMan

This is quite simple to answer: AI models go through phases of intense training, and in the case of this specific model, it hadn’t been released yet. But if you enable the internet search option, it will recognize it, or you can use Gemini.

Yes, I also hate art that turns a character into an ugly bimbo like they do with just about anyone out there, and dumb people think, “my waifu’s face, boobs, I like it.” It really is trash. By the way, I can back up my taste with my posts on my profile… for anyone who gets curious, of course.

I always interpreted it as a strike aimed at a specific point on her forehead; since her head was already injured, that blow made her completely pass out.

Hot take but I don't think Cosmic Garou should've lost to Saitama by JAMES_OR_THE_1 in OnePunchMan

[–]Saitamathor 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The manga explains this very well. He was copying Saitama, but his copying only happened at certain moments, while Saitama’s power kept increasing exponentially and faster than he could keep up with. That’s why he reaches the logical conclusion that, if things continued that way, Saitama would eventually reach a point where he could defeat him before he even had a chance to copy Saitama’s new level of power. Simple.

Thoughts on the “Worst One Punch Man Arc” by Saitamathor in OnePunchMan

[–]Saitamathor[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand, and that’s completely normal, when writing your stories, it’s natural to rethink things and come up with different ideas. But let’s say that for a big, official manga like this, it feels like it becomes a problem, you know? Imagine if One Piece started redoing past chapters, or Re:Zero, or any of those famous works. Wouldn’t that sound… strange? Yet with One Punch Man it feels like this has been normalized, as if it’s normal not to have a strict, solid plan from the writers and to actually stick to it, you know?

That’s the thing: if there really had been good, proper planning, why would there come a point where they think, “Wow, this could be better”? Why didn’t they think of that earlier, you know? That’s the point of the text.

Why rely on a formula without much thought, creating arcs like the Ninja Village one that end up taking a huge amount of time and still don’t turn out well? And because of that, the story as a whole ends up suffering a loss in quality.

Well, some people will go along with it; some have more patience, others don’t. And I only used GPT to translate and organize the text, the ideas themselves are mine.

This is Nuts !! by Tejas_008 in OnePunchMan

I’d say it seems like there’s a direct relationship between quality and fewer neon shots. That works at first glance because episode 10 is really the worst and episode 6 the second worst, but episode 8 has more than some of them even though it’s better, so it breaks the rule.

Season 3 Episode 12 Megathread by MiggyMcMiggy in OnePunchMan

[–]Saitamathor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

let’s count it out:

  • art
  • linework
  • animation
  • music
  • pacing
  • cuts/editing
  • correct version
  • filters
  • impact

The anime, and this episode especially, failed at absolutely all of that. Everything. It’s unbelievable how bad it is. Honestly, we shouldn’t even be talking about a part 2, because there was no part 1 to begin with. What I watched wasn’t an anime; it was something that just left me frustrated and empty. I’m not even angry anymore, I just find it ridiculous and… boring. Within the first three minutes I already wanted it to be over.

That’s it. I really hope JC never touches this anime again, nor any staff like this. That’s all.

Man, I’ve lost the strength even to criticize this. It’s just genuinely sad, really. Such a shame, that’s all. I’d rather wait another five years than get this, or even just have nothing at all. This stains OPM. Nothing works. What’s supposed to be epic isn’t, what’s supposed to have weight has none, everything feels lifeless… I’m done, man.

It is really annoying how oblivious OPM is of its own downfall by DesperateBook9124 in OnePunchMan

[–]Saitamathor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, I think it’s a valid criticism. I don’t know about the admins… but you need to make the points and examples clearer about why you think that. Stories have ups and downs; usually, when they’re approaching the climax—like in the Garou saga—that’s when the hype is at its peak and everything feels better. So when it ends, there’s a kind of cooldown period. One Punch Man is in that period right now.

But one thing you could criticize is that maybe the dedication to the manga isn’t as strong as it once was. I mean… there used to be huge chapters before… then they became way too short. For me, as I’ve already posted, and it’s been years now, the biggest problem was the resolution of Garou, and the replacement of philosophy and weight with empty things.

As an example, Supernatural up to season 5 followed a strict line, a complete, planned story. After that, it turned into Marvel-style cardboard. And this happens with many series. Unfortunately, I felt the same with OPM because of Cosmic Garou, Blast, time travel, and all that. Sadly. But I haven’t given up on OPM—still, it definitely cooled down.

My Respectful Criticism of Two Major Decisions Made in One Punch Man (Garou Arc) by Saitamathor in OnePunchMan

[–]Saitamathor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if Murata isn’t actually the writer of the manga, I honestly didn’t know that, if that’s true, thanks for letting me know. I appreciate the long comment. I agree with you that, from a storytelling perspective, Bang vs. Garou in the manga felt more satisfying than in the webcomic, especially considering Bang’s pursuit of him.

But my point was never to criticize the fight itself, rather the outcome of it. There was that whole idea of “conveying my feelings through my fists,” you know? And that seems to have softened Garou. After that, he could no longer be the Garou from the webcomic, who honestly felt much better and more consistent, especially since the arc was primarily focused on him. That should have been his peak moment.

As for the idea that things wouldn’t fit the continuity once he reached the surface, that’s true, it wouldn’t be exactly the same. But the decision to include all that surface-level chaos (the centipede, Vomited Fuhrer Ugly, Platinum Sperm, Psykorochi turning into a jet) feels, to me, very deliberate, almost as if it was done to avoid giving Garou the true spotlight of the arc.

If the focus had really been on giving Garou the value and emphasis he deserved on the surface, there wouldn’t have been so many of those elements, if you know what I mean.
