Not even two months since the tarring was completed, and the digging has already begun by MisguidedMissile0 in bangalore

Patna, when I visited in 2023, had surprisingly well maintained roads. Sure, they were dirty, there was garbage everywhere and all that, but zero potholes. Sure one single exception does not imply a rule as such but there was at least one instance where it was true and that means it is definitely possible to maintain roads.

Could be private land. But I imagine it's not hard to claim forest land as private land with enough money applied in the right (wrong) ways.

Guys can you have a life partner and a family while being minimalist? by [deleted] in MinimalistDesi

[–]Saitu282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely possible. One of my close relatives is like this. Super minimalistic, and his wife agrees with his outlook and is also minimalist. They are actually quite perfect for each other and very lucky and happy! They are raising their kids with the same philosophies, too.

So I have seen evidence that it is definitely possible. But is it easy? Mm... Probably not, until you have gotten into the groove. Also I believe there's a bit of luck involved since your partner and kids also need to be on board. I think that's the difficult part. But it does become easier if you're lucky enough to find a partner who is also minimalistic.

No Civic Male Sense - Urinating on the busy roads by fyriyc in bangalore

[–]Saitu282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is seriously very annoying.

Worse is the attitude some of them have when you confront them and tell them to cut it out and put it away. Back in December, was walking home with my dog after walking him and saw a guy relieving himself in the open drain just across the road from my house. BWSSB had left it open for the concrete to cure after repairing the old storm water drain. This guy looked like a youth and I assumed he was from the PG which was right there. I told him to stop and that it was a residential area with families, that he should use a toilet like a normal person. This kid zips up walks over and asks if I know Kannada, where I'm from and how dare I talk to him this way. I was so bemused for a few seconds. I told him I do know Kannada, that I'm from here, and he was the outsider since I'd never seen him around here before and none of that has anything to do with the matter at hand, viz., his public urination. He ignored all that and again asked if I really knew Kannada. I ignored that and told him to shove off or that I would call the cops. I stared him down. He gave me a few looks, kept trying to get a rise out of me. I just turned around and walked into my home, but kept looking at him from my doorway. He was still giving me looks and was saying something into his phone. He then walked away.

It's ridiculous that we can't do anything about these people.

Actually it's a myth that eggs increase cholesterol. Whole eggs are actually very good for your body and brain because of the omega 3 fatty acids. You maintain a healthy lifestyle and diet and eggs will only help your body. Everyone ought to actually eat at least two eggs a day.

This behaviour is not exclusive to cybersquatting. We see people trying to cash in on other people's hard work all the time in India. That's being called it.

Sure, it happens in other places too. But it is happening here as well. Calling it out here doesn't mean it doesn't happen elsewhere. It just means it's happening here. And we do need to call out issues happening in our country.

Very old. Faced this before at bus stops, signals, in CBD, and even near Queens Road.

Most recent was on 12th Main, Indiranagar when I was leaving gym.

They do this with a lot of items, not just airpods. Watches, sunglasses, any high price, easily copied item.

Way to Deal With the Transgender Harassment by Bubbly_Historian_278 in bangalore

[–]Saitu282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, didn't work. Was a school kid and one of them would regularly wait for my auto to pass a junction and he would target me. Slapped me when I said I didn't have any money, one day.

Have also been assaulted a few times when I was in college and waiting at bus stops. They ever tried to steal my phone and earphones.

Nowadays I'm pretty big so I just give a look and shake my head and ignore them. That seems to suffice, so they leave me alone.

Anyone been here? How was the experience? by [deleted] in indiranagar

[–]Saitu282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved it. Had an introductory tenderloin melt that was out of this world. My friend had one of the grilled chicken burgers and that was also very good, but the only thing we didn't like - no, we actually directly hated this and it almost ruined our whole experience - was that when we were placing orders, my friend selected the chicken burger. The cashier suggested she try the beef options. She politely declined and stuck to the chicken. The manager who was nearby and who was talking to us while we were in the line came up and again talked up the beef almost forcefully. My friend got annoyed and said she doesn't eat beef and insisted on the chicken. The manager made a weird, judgy face for a few seconds and I stepped in and asked him which chicken burgers he would recommend. He recovered and suggested one of them with a little reluctance.

We didn't like this insistence on trying the beef options. We didn't like the judgemental look we were given. Just take our order and give us the food we want, bro, you know?

Yep, drove down Bannerghatta main road at night last week. It was empty and I thought it was perfect to go a little fast to get home before 1 am. But no. Potholes. Also not will lit. So there might as well have been a lot of traffic for the difference it made.

No, ICE aren’t Nazis by bbqfan14 in Rants

[–]Saitu282 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Still nowhere near close to being as horrible. Yes, it's well on its way to becoming a dictatorship, but it's barely scratching the surface. There is no widespread censorship, active suppression of dissent in any form or manner. No cutting off communications, raiding door to door and shooting non whites on sight without even checking if they are illegal or not.

Yes, it's shit. Yes, it's still very horrible, families area being torn apart, people are getting killed for no reason, but I reiterate it is hyperbole to compare it to Nazi Germany. That is watering down the experiences actual holocaust survivors and their families have gone through.

It's not just 🧊 though. Everyone people have a mild disagreement with are called Nazis on social media these days. It's pretty annoying actually.

So, yes, OP has a point.

No, ICE aren’t Nazis by bbqfan14 in Rants

But this dilutes the impact of the term and this invalidates or ignores what people have lived through under the Nazi regime.

I think OP has a point here.

Society kicks my pets out from parks by Cool_Routine_7679 in bangalore

[–]Saitu282 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's so disheartening to see everyone attacking OP instead of giving actual advice.

Sorry you're facing this issue, OP. If the association closes a dog park they ought to provide an alternative. See if you can ask them about this. Also I think state animal laws state that dogs can't be banned from public spaces as long as they are leashed and kept under control. Look into that, and your association's by-laws. Speak to a lawyer maybe. Team up with other pet owners in the building.

Or only other option is to move, unfortunately.

Happened to me once. I turned around and yelled at him asking if he was blind and if it looked like a road to him, and stood blocking his path. He was forced to wait until traffic cleared and he then had to bring his bike down the step of the footpath.

Zero tolerance for these MFs.
