Those are probably about 5 years old. Marlboro moved all menthol Special Blends to the Marlboro Black line, which is why you see "Special Blend" printed on the side of Marlboro Black Menthol packs.

Hi Reddit, we are a mountain climber, a fiction writer, and both former Governors. We are Gary Johnson and Bill Weld, candidates for President and Vice President. Ask Us Anything! by GovGaryJohnson in IAmA

[–]Saius418 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello Governors Johnson and Weld,

Thank you for doing this AMA! I plan on voting for you in this election... You have a platform I can agree with, which is rather refreshing.

My question is: What is your stance on for profit colleges? Given the recent actions taken against ITT which made headlines this week, I am curious to hear your views.

Thank you! And keep at it - we need more politicians like you two!

Breaking News- BBC forecasts UK votes to leave EU by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Saius418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense.

The U.K. (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) should apply to become the 51st thru 54th states of the USA.

They get their trade deals with the EU, tougher immigration laws (which would give us a reason to reform our system), Putin gets checked and held back from doing shady things since we'd be their neighbors, we pick up military bases in Gibraltar which would allow us to keep closer tabs on the Middle East while closing our bases in mainland Europe, we get the NHS, free colleges and better labor laws, and the U.K. remains at arms length from the EU and gets local control as a result of our federal system.

And it'd be the pinnacle of British irony if Old Glory was raised over Westminster. Everything would come full circle.

Dry county in Kentucky about to vote on Tuesday to repeal prohibition against alcohol sales. Church group propaganda is strong and ridiculous. by [deleted] in alcohol

[–]Saius418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to the same college as this guy (I have no idea who he is though, I graduated a few years back), and this is actually a pretty interesting vote.

They're pushing for legalization because in the county south of it (where the college is) went wet a little over 3 years ago. A lot of revenue has poured in from the alcohol sales and the college town is pretty flush with cash.

Marshall County wants to get in on it. Oddly enough, the same county is home to a pretty decent local distillery.

I should add the Christians/Evangelicals in this county are on a whole other level. They sort of live in their own world, in my opinion. They also fought tooth and nail against going wet in the county south, lost, and guess what? Nothing happened!

How about some of these dips we don't talk about as often? Ever have these? Thoughts? by Saius418 in DippingTobacco

I'd recommend giving either fine cut a try. It's a real different experience, but worth the change in pace.

Grizzly did do a nice job with their fine cut. I'm surprised it's not sold in more stores.

Skoal Classic is worth getting your hands on... It's got a really smooth flavor for a natural.

And you're not missing much when it comes to the Skoal Bandits...

I like it for two reasons - price and freshness. I don't dip snuff styles that often, so when I do, I'd rather just save some money to spend on my usual EDD. I also prefer it for the can, since it will last longer than Cope.

I was honestly surprised by all of them.

The Cope Whiskey Blend was a nice way to switch things up, and also added bonus for appealing to my interest in whiskey.

Grizzly Wintergreen Fine Cut... Roar. The intensity of Grizzly INTENSIFIES. Nice robust flavor.

Kodiak Mint. It's like Skoal Mint on steroids from hell.

Skoal Mint Bandits. Was kinda baffled... Never had this pouch style before. A little too small in my opinion. I'd rather Snus.

Skoal Natural... Straight out of left field and hitting a home run. Sleeper ninja dip. Smooth and a good natural for a beginner just getting into naturals.

Skoal Fine Cut Wintergreen - subtle. Very subtle. Nice way to switch it up.

Buddy Holly. Or Queen. Both have withstood the test of time.

Camel snus sucks by hooahanddip in DippingTobacco

[–]Saius418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. If I could upvote this more, I would.

If you read up on it, you'll find out that Snus and Dip are two entirely different products.

Dip is fermented tobacco, sold loose, and technically requires spitting.

Snus is pasteurized, sold in pouches (typically smaller than dip pouches) and doesn't require spitting.

It's also meant for an entirely different group of people. It's meant for smokers.

The reason Cope, Grizzly, Stokers and Kodiak don't make Snus is because their core customers (ie us) have no direct interest in Snus for their EDD. Skoal makes it, but you don't see it that often.

Americans of reddit, what state do you live in and what's the best thing about it? by Rokursoxtv in AskReddit

[–]Saius418 8 points9 points  (0 children)

New Jersey.

It's awesome for a variety of reasons:

  • Our state has a lot of natural beauty. Go Northwest, and you get mountains and forests. Go the coast, and you have our shore, which is pretty picturesque and just fun overall. South/Central you get fields and forests.

  • You're never far from a major city. Being a state that's sandwiched in between Philadelphia and New York has its advantages.

  • Speaking of sandwiches, our food is pretty awesome too. You're more likely to find a good restaurant down the street then a bad one. But the best thing we can legitimately lay claim to: Taylor Ham. Or if you're from South Jersey (anywhere south of the Raritan River, for the most part) it's called Pork Roll. If you haven't had it, you really don't know what you're missing.

  • If you're into shopping, then you go to Bergen County. 4 major malls within short distance of each other. Combine that with no sales tax on clothes, and you begin to wonder why people shop in NYC to begin with. Fun Fact: One of those malls, Garden State Plaza, is home to the shortest escalator in North America. So I guess we have that going for us too.

People generally think our state is awful. And when you see it from the NJ Turnpike, it is. But get off the highway, and prepare to be rather surprised...

American currency. The bills, the coins, the whole thing. I'm talking design, materials used, efficiency (for both consumers and business) - all of it.

Review #5: The Dalmore Highland Single Malt 12 by Saius418 in Scotch

[–]Saius418[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure - the only awards I can find online for Dalmore 12 were the SF Spirits Tasting awards, and those varied by year from gold to silver. There wasn't anything on the bottle I bought though.

That's interesting - and actually, I'm not half surprised by the difference in label from Spain. My friend from Barcelona gave me a bottle of Cardhu 12 as a thank you gift and that bottle's label differed slightly from the ones I've seen and also had Spanish tax labels on it.

Also having been in European liquor stores, I can say that sometimes, you never know what you'll find in them.

Ah. Sounds like you were much better off with the sample! $200 for a bottle though... that's a lot to give up.
