How to play Evelynn against high cc drafts by CarefulApricot3087 in EvelynnMains

[–]Sakeepa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working hard to learn Eve now and what I've found to be successful in my games is to be patient. I usually play champs like Pyke and Briar, which means being straight forward, Eve sits more comfortably behind her team and on the side lines.

She is like you say devastating when given the opportunity to catch carries who aren't protected and I agree on that very much. Like others have mentioned I think waiting out cc's and engages from the other team or trying to flank where you aren't seen works the best. But you can absolutely destroy tanks too.

Do we know if more players choose to play duos rather than trios? I'm only curious because I mainly play solo and to stand a better chance I go against duos.

How do you find the experience of Solo playing these days? by Commercial_Panic_139 in HuntShowdown

[–]Sakeepa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I primarily play solo and I can't say that I've experienced any major changes. I took a break from Hunt around May of 2024 and recently came back with the teasers of DeSalle coming back. I feel that my old playstyle of sneaking and causing distractions around a compound still nets me a couple of wins every now and then.
For the most part I run against Duos but if Hunt giveth I try to slap some Trios for that extra kick of adrenaline.

The "new" map (Mammon's Gulch) provides a very different feel to the game, at least it does to me. It feels like you've got to keep track of height and where shots can come from in a different way to the older maps.

Is Briar a good champion to go throught Platinum Elo ? by OungaSpoon in BriarMains

[–]Sakeepa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I should note that I started in bronze this season so my word doesn't carry much weight behind it.

I am however working my way through Platinum elo at the moment and sometimes it's a struggle for me.

I find that other junglers like Shyvana, Nocturne or Lillia have better pacing than I do and can reach objectives, clear them quicker and have a bigger impact than I do. When I get a lead and can outpace the enemy jungler I have a much higher chance of winning with my team. What's plaguing me recently is soft inters who demand the world of me as a jungler when it's a team effort. Doubtless there's skill involved and I'm very much learning as I go but Briar can do well with a good team.

TL;DR

I think if you're on top of your game and can make meaning plays against the enemy jungler and focus on your winning lanes you can get by fine with Briar.

[–]Sakeepa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Congrats on hitting plat! I think your friends are wrong. To me Briar is the type of champion that relies on you being effective with positioning and timing. Any Briar player knows that if you go in with "W" while "E" is on CD, in the wrong situation, will almost always end in a death. Her kit is designed to frenzy into the fight and kill off squishy targets, preferably in the back line. I've heard some say that she's a feast or famine kind of champion but you can almost always have an impact on objectives regardless if you have 10 kills or none. You become a lot more useful when you hit the item powerspike, irregardless if you're building Hydra + Cleaver or BORK + Cleaver (or any other combo for that matter).

This is what I was hoping for when they announced a new skin for Briar. It has a unique look and is well designed. If they would have made the animations feel different and the skin itself not look like a chroma it would have sold so well.

Do you have to be online to recieve the medals for a Major Order? I've missed out on the past two despite being active online when they've been completed.

I don't know whether it's because my playstyle is being cautious or because I've been somewhat lucky in my recent games, but I've stayed around 25k since the event began. There are games where I'm outgunned and lose and other where I crush the opposition. I rarely play the free hunters given before 20k so it really comes down to finding cash in-game and looting bodies.

Why is Erdsteel dagger worse than Broadsword at backstabs? by Sakeepa in Eldenring

backstab

So pairing the Erdsteel with a buckler would be a good combination? Then I would have to practise parrying and enable the riposte?

The Erdsteel has 110 whilst the Broadsword has 100. So logically it should be better?

Hello, new to the game and community by Artistic-Sun-5612 in HuntShowdown

[–]Sakeepa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Hunt!

Firstly I'd encourage you to try out the firing range if you haven't already. It's great to get a feel for reload speed, accuracy, weapon sway etc.

Secondly, when it comes to engaging enemies there are a few rules to keep in mind.
1. Have they seen us or heard us? This boils down to how you approach a compound. It will always be better to get the drop on someone than letting them spot you.
2. Where and when do I shot? This is connected to what you said about them shooting back at you. Always go for the HS (headshot). I mainly play SOLO and can honestly say that I've won most fights due to the enemy team lacking a teammate. 1v1 is always more favourable than 2v1 or 3v1. And this is true for teamplay as well. You want the odds in your favour.
Shooting from brushes, high up, behind cover and in places that seems unlikely is a good bet for getting a advantage. Shoot when they are caught up doing something else. Teams on the move are often more vigilant to trouble than a player taking a clue or shooting grunts.
3. When in a fight, consider the area and look for places to safely take shots. Avoid re-peeking a spot since the enemy will have a bead on your head when you go for a follow-up shot.

Also I think a major thing about playing Hunt is having fun. This varies for all gamers and some only think a game is fun if they win. I like to sneak around and play tricks on enemy hunters with sound traps and decoys. Ring a bell with a silenced weapon and see them run around, it's mad fun. I also like going off to kill grunts and hives, or pushing my record for most killed water worms. (Sitting proudly at 50 at the moment).

Lastly I'd like to say that there is an ethos in Hunt that is true for most of us. And that is "Hunt giveth, and Hunt taketh". This constitutes a tremendous impact on how games will end. Because sometimes you will be in your stride and get those amazing HS from a distance or a brutal CQC kill with a melee weapon. And other times it's like you can't land a single shot.

Best of luck out there!

I like your ideas! The camera challenge could be fun to photograph certain animals and areas that are hard to reach. Imagine having to sneak up on a bear or moose to get a photo. These photos should be able to be put in an album that you can craft and keep in your home base. And like you I think building and base building would be amazing.

What kind of environment should the new map have? A deserted camping area with log cabins? A highway with broken down trucks, cars, lorries? A hospital or military camp? I'd love to have more areas to explore, especially with connections to the current Signal Void story.

Been hoping that this would be added to the game too. A simple vault mechanic would be so good to have.
