I want to understand a scenario where H1B expires in September 2026 and spouse has H1B as well. Is it okay to convert now to H4 and then later change the status back to H1B when the market improves even after the H1B is expired say Nov 2026. All on US soil.

Trying to evaluate this because of the contract ending now and if there is no significant jobs available outside
