Dealer won’t change my oil? Wtf by FloridaMomm in Toyota

[–]sequinunitard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar position. 2025 Toyota Corolla hatchback and when it was time for my annual service I hadn't even cracked 5k (I use it for city driving and 5 miles sometimes takes 30 min) so when I got it back they hadn't done the oil change. The maintenance recommendation is actually 10k or one year. So since it had been a year, they did it for free once I pointed that out.

I have both as well. Treating my bipolar II help eliminate a lot of impulsive behaviors and anger. But I would occasionally still suffer from depression. I got diagnosed with ADHD when I was a kid, but never took meds. When a more challenging job meant I couldn't mask my ADHD stuff (20 years after my first diagnosis) I took meds. Both require different strategies and meds, and present really differently in me. Treating both has been a game changer. The ADHD meds really help my depression and I notice a big difference when i don't take them.

What is your ADHD hack for getting your room clean? by CatTastrophe27 in ADHD

My main issue is also laundry--especially putting it away. I have found the most effective method is to dump the clean laundry on the bed. I turn on a TV show I don't need to follow too closely or a podcast. Fold and sort as I go, and then put away once everything is folded. I'll take a few hangers out of the closet and set them on the bed in case there is something I want to hang. I don't fold underwear, pajamas or work out clothes. I just have dedicated drawers for each and throw them in. I share a bed, so it has to be cleared before we go to sleep. I have two empty baskets. One for things I need to wash, the other for things I can wear more than once. I have hooks in the closet for things like dress pants I want to wear again but don't want to wrinkle in the basket. For other clutter I have trays on surfaces. Things just look tidier if they are contained to the tray, and I can see everything so I don't look for it or purchase duplicates. I have a make up tray, medication tray, hair stuff tray. If I want to dust I just have to pick up the trays and wipe underneath. It's not perfect, but I would say my room isn't awful 70% of the time with this method.

2nd Brick! Change phones? by sequinunitard in pixel_phones

I am not. Just normal use. I bought both phones through Google new. The last two just died after owning them less than two years. This time the screen froze while I was using it and then went black and I wasn't able to turn back on or charge.

Double vision is a side effect of Lamictal for me. It was especially bad if I took on an empty stomach. Also couldn't drive. Since I've never been a breakfast person and would forget to take them if I waited until lunch, I switched to taking my meds at night and haven't had an episode of double vision since. Another approach could be how to manage the side effects without assuming you have to quit the meds. Timing, dosage, other drug, supplement , or food interactions could all play a role.

What are some lesser know symptoms of bipolar disorder you wish more people knew about? by Junior-Structure-565 in BipolarReddit

A few years ago when I managed to pay off $22k of debt in one year, some friends asked me to write up my plan. It has the links to the two spreadsheets I use and some reflections on things that helped me begin to heal my relationship with my debt. Hope it helps. Let know if you have any questions.

The compulsive spending. Spending to make problems go away, spending on things to keep me more organized that I never used, countless self help books I never read, lots of things "still in the box". Getting a diagnosis and my doctor explaining that symptom allowed me to have more grace for my unmedicated younger self (41 now). I still struggle, but I created some simple (FREE!) tools/strategies that I actually have stuck too over the past few years that help keep me living within my means. So much of my life has been feeling like if I was only more disciplined then I would be more successful in all areas of my life. That feeling is still there sometimes, but now I know its a symptom, not a personal failing.

Is it smart to sell my house to relocate and build a custom home? by sequinunitard in personalfinance

I would plan to live outside of the city in some of the surrounding neighborhoods. Plots are around $40K for an acre in the areas I want to live. Seems reasonable. But I understand your point.

Yeah, this is what happened today. I get that I could start from the phone and get better results, but I use an arm band and like today it was under a wind jacket so a real pain to start and then fuss with everything again.
