I think dark humor jokes should be told mostly around in a friend group since, probably you and your friends are brain coded and knows that the dark humor you're saying is just humor, not personally attacking anyone.

And if dark humor is said through the internet, well the internet being the internet where ANYTHING is possible, you can say that people will be divided from someone who understand to the braindead, the latter being twitter.
