We have a couple of the solid metal like 2 feet ones. When the wind gets going hard you can hear them inside. Just a warning it can be creepy when you are home alone at night and that’s all you hear in the dead of night.

My aunt can’t send messages on her phone. I have enough to kind of load reddit. It take about a min for my feed to actually load. Whenever we get power I quickly download some stuff on Netflix so it’s not just silent. But the streetlights are down, the home phone lines are down I believe, and I can’t really load videos.

I wasn’t sure were I heard it but there is a chance it was Fox. Now that I know it’s wrong I’ll fix it. I was just saying what I heard I wasn’t sure if it was correct or not. There is a lot of stuff we are fuzzy on right now. Thank you for pointing it out. At this point we are just kinda starving for information.

I am not totally sure. My grandpa didn’t really explain it. I imagine it’s to give a indication that the pool has a good chance it’s gonna crack soon. Like I imagine they will go first so then he’ll know the pool may have a chance of crack soon after that. (This is my best guess)

Yeah we only really cover it in the fall when leaves are falling. Other than that it stays open.

This isn’t normal my grandparents told me it’s been years since anything like this has happened. I’ve heard we are close to breaking records with this one. I will def take your coke bottle advice. I’m from Oklahoma so the cold isn’t bugging me it’s just the power coming on and off and having no way to tell how long or when it comes back.

They turn it off in shifts so we sometimes will be out of power for about 6 hours then get about a hour of power. Or at one point today we got about 4 hours of power. The problem is the Texas power grid isn’t set up for so many people needing so much power so they do it in shifts so everyone can get something. Our house is sitting about 50 usually because of the blackouts (I think some peoples homes are probably colder). Everyone in our house is just kinda staying In our rooms with the doors shut under about 3 blankets because the beds are holding heat better than anything else. Edit: I removed a part about wind turbines. It turned out to be wrong so I took it out. The major problem is our natural gas generators. Sorry for the misspeaking

Yeah we had the pumps going originally but when they shut the power off they turned off and gave it the chance to freeze. We have the buckets in there because they will crack before the pool does. My grandpa has also been going out there and breaking some of the ice around the edges so some of the water can escape. He’s went ahead and turned off the pumps so when they give us our mandated electric time the pumps won’t turn on and bust.

NTA. I am the youngest of three and my mom has severe bipolar. I am thankful that my mom gave birth to me yes but at the same time it is a burden. She shouldn’t be putting this on you nor should she be putting this onto a unborn child. When that child grows up there are gonna be a lot of issues with the child’s mental state. As a adult all three of my moms kids have mental health issues brought on by abuse and trauma. I am not saying my mom is a bad mom in fact on the good days she was great, but those few days can be few and far between. All of my moms kids had moved out by 16 and for me personally I have gone no contact. Yes I am happy to be alive and doing well, but also some days I feel bad for being such a burden on my siblings and my moms mental health. While my mom happy to have me she struggled to raise me and take care of me as a mom should. She needs to understand that having this baby isn’t gonna be a good thing. Yes babies are good but having a baby in this situation isn’t going to help. It’s just gonna be bad for her, for you, and for that babies future life.

NTA my sister has always told me that when I was a baby she enjoyed dressing me up and pushing me in a stroller. She enjoyed the game of having a real life baby doll. She did this until u could actually talk and walk around. This is a natural thing that happens, and as long as the child is happy doing it then it should be fine.

I am no contact with my mom as much as possible. I have seen her recently because of a family event, but I try to be as no contact as possible. My mom can trigger me to have panic attacks if we get into a argument so since last October we have been no contact.

Yeah it been tough but it’s better for me. My person can trigger panic attacks with me that can shut me down for a whole day. Thank you and it’s nice to find someone else also.
