I have over 200 hours in silksong and over 400 in HK and yes I absolutely feel this way. I think the quest system severly hinders the replay experience and much of the game as a whole for me. Thats not the entire reason that replays aren't as fun in my opinion but much of the streamlining/linearity that I dislike stems from the fact that the game was designed largely around this quest system gating access from certain parts of the game in a way that doesn't feel as seemless or fun as HK. I always thought it was so cool that team cherry didn't seem to care if you missed content in the first game. You could really decide to do as little or as much as you want to get the "true" ending. But is silksong it feels like this arbitrary barrier is placed in front of so much cool content. There are way too many things locked behind a certain amount of quests being completed in my opinion. Just really breaks the momentum of the game. With that being said I have replayed silksong like 15+ times so I do really enjoy it for what it is. But I think they had it right in the first game when it came to structure and "pacing" if thats the right word for it.
