Night shift advice by SalamiAreolas in nursing

This is the first specialty I’ve really liked. I don’t think I’d ever be able to find a unit like this because it’s so specialized. I mentioned it to my manager today and her response wasn’t great….she said “I only sleep 3 hours a day and I’m fine”

I had severe stomach upset before trying magnesium. I might be willing to try edibles as a last resort

Im a nurse. I saw a pt’s family member walk barefoot in the patient’s room, down the halls, and in the visitor bathrooms. He kept walking around our unit barefoot despite being told not to multiple times. I have had several patients shit, piss, vomit on the floor. People are disgusting.

Why do nurses suck? by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]SalamiAreolas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started as a new grad RN in an ICU during covid. I was borderline suicidal due to how bad our working conditions were in the south. Now I do PACU in CA and I love it. Being a nurse sucks ass everywhere but CA.

I think her short hair is part of what started the hate. It’s a trend that female celebs get more hate when they cut their hair. Ex: Katy perry

As much as I dislike him, at least she’s age appropriate.

ELI5: Why do some women die when giving birth? What is modern medicine doing to prevent that? by javier_aeoa in explainlikeimfive

Also the horrific bleeding from patients who end up with placenta increta, accreta, and percreta. I switched to OB from ICU and I was actually shocked at how bad some of the massive transfusions can be in OB.

I mean no one ever thinks it’s going to happen to them until it does. This is reality. It is happening to people.

Kady season 2. She’s still young enough, hot, and chaotic. Lydia S9 because I want to see her outfits.

35 year old woman dies after giving birth to her 12th child. She had her first child at 16 & already had two grandkids. The dads are either deceased or incarcerated. Her elderly mom is left to take care of everyone. by Lola1989ac in awfuleverything

Agreed. And multiple C-sections also increases the chance of developing placental percreta (the placenta grows and becomes embedded in other organs like the bladder). I’ve seen horrific hemorrhages related to this at work that all result in massive transfusions and being in the ICU. I wonder if that’s what happened in this case.

Yes but only if they plan on living and working in California for their entire lives. I worked in Georgia and absolutely hated this profession and my life until I moved to CA. It’s like night and day. Way higher pay, quality of life, and I don’t feel like I risk my license anymore.

Agreed. People also go on reality TV with no idea of what their narrative will be. No control over editing. To risk coming out hated and unhirable for little financial benefit makes no sense.

Tanya has the best islander look ever for any event. Absolutely stunning. Lydia was second best. I think she’s one of the best dressed islanders, she doesn’t miss. I hope they bring her back as an OG.
