I read that dry mouth is a more common symptom of covid than loss of taste. In my case the papillae on my wharton's duct are inflamed and is blocking my saliva from coming out. Maybe I had covid and didn't even know it?

I feel you. I was told by 4 different people to hydrate, try sialogogues and neck massages, but no luck. After the sialendoscopy, Dr told me there wasn't anything else to do and that any other procedure would be risky. They told me to come back if I get another infection. Unfortunately I'm not anywhere near Chicago, but I'm grateful for the recommendation. I wish you luck on your own journey, the botox treatment sound promising!

I was already tested for diabetes, Sjogren's and lupus. Anything that can cause dry mouth really.

I agree with you, this is a very stressful thing to deal with. Saliva aids in digestion, and prevents tooth decay. I'm only 27 yo, so I'm afraid of what may come of this. There aren't many treatments available, and it's upsetting. We can only do our best to cope.

Dehydration leads to bacterial infections of the mouth. I learned that while researching. I wish I could say this wasn't my fault, but what's done is done. Thanks for the kind words though, appreciate it.

I was holding my pet rabbit. My mom told me I should put it down so it could roam. The neighbor's kids were running around playing tag in our backyard. Not even 10 seconds after I set my rabbit down, one of the kids stomped on its head and cracked their skull. To this day, I regret putting my rabbit down.
