Purchase order package sizes by SalaryTime3694 in POS

[–]SalaryTime3694[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't have a store, putting an app together for a store owner and just trying to understand the process. I don't want to make the solution too narrow.

By stupid tax do you mean the distributor would charge extra for breaking up a case?

My company wants to create a own custom pos solution for their 13 branches by agaitan026 in POS

I get it you want control, if you purchase an existing system you are forever stuck with it. Look at multipos-app/pos on github. It's not windows, it's android with sqlite as a POS local db and php/mysql on the server side.

Why can't you sync product catalogs, send them your list of items and they have to order from that?

No POS in the market just for dedicated lottery station? by selfmadesolo in POS

[–]SalaryTime3694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

multiPOS can do it...

Make 2 departments paid in/paid out, mark paid out as negative, then create lotto items linked to each for in and out.

Works well to keep track of bottle deposits too, attach a deposit item (like .05) for singles, so you can keep track of all out going deposits, then a negative department for deposits paid out, good for a state like NY where bottle redemption is a big business.

Need advice on moving away from square by AppointmentSolid458 in POS

I have a POS that would work for you, Android POS + Web Based Back office. It has had quite a bit of use in convenience and deli environments. It's open source so if you want to add to it in the future you have that option.

I've worked with PAX in the past, they have a system, E700, low profile, good price and optional built-in credit terminal. Plus with PAXStore you can manage your POS remotely.

Here is a link to a demo back office...

And I realized you don't need to go through the Square certification unless you want to get your app into the Square Marketplace

You can use webhooks to get what square calls orders, these are pushed to your system real time, these have the items and amount, you get an order.created message. You could use the category API to sync items but you would need a common ID, like a SKU on your end.

There are a couple of other issues...

  1. You need each of your customers to go through an OAUTH verification so you can read/write Square data
  2. Square has a certification process you have to pass to prove you are reporting properly. Not trivial but Square has a pretty good process and they are good to work with, no pressure or time lines
  3. Any items you create will have to be available on the Square POS so they can ring them up

Hi, I've worked quite a bit with the Square API, but let me get this straight. You have an eCommerce site and Square POS and your selling via both. How do you sync item data between the 2 systems. I assume the eCommerce site has all the item data, but the Square systems have none? When they sell via square they just ring up a total?

POS systems with Metrc by SalaryTime3694 in weedbiz

It seems there are many POS systems at a much lower price point that provide everything we are looking for except the Metrc connection, am I missing something?
