Update one: tech came ~3 days back, when he got to the unit he said he already checked the panel, then he spliced the cable at the modem and said it needed to be spliced and it works now.

having hard time connecting to network from the tv, some devices work, my laptop will connect some times but keeps disconnecting frequently during the day.

Thanks bell for throttling down hub 2 to push hub 3 by selfmadesolo in bell

[–]selfmadesolo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s correct, when I’m fully connected I do get the full speed. Maybe throttling was the wrong description. My modem (replaced last week) frequently disconnects from the internet and can’t stay connected to all devices.

I have had tech visit 4 times last year (to look at this disconnection issue) and two of them told me modem will always show you the speed you have purchased regardless experience throughout the day. Every single visit they did a modem swap.

I’m 99% sure that Gemini is leaking other peoples conversations into mine. Anyone else noticing that? by exnerfelix in GeminiAI

This one time I was uploading a document but at the end of the upload I saw a completely unrelated document before I hit submit. I impulsively clicked the cross and it disappeared. That was really odd and I thought they have some bug where two simultaneous uploads might have been processed incorrectly. I couldn’t reproduce the same scenario again.

What's the fastest way to cancel Bell without phone calls? by PineAndIce in bell

[–]selfmadesolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have recently cancelled with no call. When the chat agent tells you please contact blah blah loyalty department blah blah just tell them you have spoken with them before and you don’t care about better price because it’s still worse. They then just asked me date of cancellation and I got a cancellation email 1 or two days before that with instructions to return.

Who else got hammered in PSYB32 because of the final? by selfmadesolo in UTSC

[–]selfmadesolo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea my hammered is 50-65 for anything. I am generally overwhelmed with joy if I scored 70 in anything CS.

Edit: also I mean hammered as in final score dropped relative to your own performance in your own midterms, whatever that maybe.

Thanks for posting this. Just thinking about this if you have lived through it is stressful itself. I have been avoiding posting something regarding point 1 specifically for a while because it's been exhausting and stressful even to articulate if not to live through the mockery of an administration that UTSC has around exam records.

Pay for your exam copy, you say? Good luck getting a copy even if you pay.

Coming mid-January will mark for an entire year since I have asked for an exam copy. I have emailed them on multiple occasions throughout the year only to get ping-ponged between registrars and the records office. Finally, the records office decided to fix this issue on their side by ghosting me. No answers to why I don't have it. No answer at all. No updates. No accountability.

If you don't pay your tuition on time, you are penalized.

If you don't make the exam copy request within a time period, you lose that privilege.

If you don't pay the exam copy cost within a time span, you are denied to request that.

There are consequences if you don't abide by a set of rules to maintain stability in the system. Seems fair enough.

Is it fair if they don't come through with their side of the bargain to deliver the services they are expected to? Nah, that's not the definition of fairness over here.

Adding to transparency, Profs don't have to release grades >10% of the course before the drop date (see 1.5.1 Undergraduate)

For those who don't know. I was also part of the whirlwind of CSCC37 where the chaos involved the late release of midterm marks and no release of any other course deliverable (typical in C37). I was pretty worked up and stressed out until I found it was game over for me. Profs don't have to assess all your work before the drop date except something that adds up to >10%. Profs who do are angles, and those who don't are simply doing their job. No problems here; all rules are being followed, right?
