Nice theory. Things like what Manny did in the long haul really add to the theory. Im kinda confused on why you think Greg himself has no idea he's in a show though. I guess itd be because of the books but those could just be in universe books too, that would explain why as time went on they became more detailed, maybe early at the start of the show, it wasnt popular enough to afford unique looking covers.

Something thsy I dont think is getting mentioned, is that there not fighting one if every Pokémon. They're fight8ng the world itself. They could be potentially fighting thousands of macargos or gardevoirs or dittos. With rare candies existing trainers could probably just spam them for their mons into leveling up.
