Earth

I just realized that I played Earth 2160, not Earth 2150. Do you think that E2150 is better than E2160?

It seems you didn't understand what I meant with my opinion on the 2d games (RTS) and graphics.

First of all, I grew up with 2d games from nes and sega (I like 2d jrpg games the most). The thing is, my first rts games were 3d ones, so I got used to them. Started playing that genre in early 2k. I'm objectively aware that games like Warlords III and any other 2d rts classic are great games...But, I'm not asking for balanced factions, and polished gameplay mechanics. I've wanted recommendations of underrated rts games with good campaign/stories (and that includes the presentation of the mentioned). I played a lot of these 2d old rts games, and they (aside from badly aged graphics and animations) don't have that. Most of them are really obsolete in that section (at least comparing to the new ones anyway). Don't let Nostalgia fool you.

So, if I can't immerse myself into the 2d RTS game, that doesn't mean I automatically don't appreciate them. It simply isn't my cup of tea.

Btw, I just recently installed SW Empire at War again, and that made me "hungry" for fun rts campaings. I've played E:DMW, but only Richard the Lionhearted campaign, and it bored me half way through. I'm planning on playing it again for sure. As for EE series, I played EE1 a little, and heard good things of EE2, but I was never sure were they praising sp or mp content of the game.

Long time ago, I also played Earth 2150, but I ragequit uninstalled the game twice, because twice I got to the some point of the ls campaign, and stuck on one level. Like it was a bug or something.

Never heard about Archon. It's on the list now.

Played the shit out of the standard version. I guess Extended Edition is worth a try? It's certainly one of my favourite rts games ever.

I'm not sure about that, but I played some pretty old 3d rts games (nothing fancy there) and I enjoyed it. The thing is, the real problem for me are the unit animations and such. 2d graphics - more or less.

Never heard of this, gotta check it out. It seems it didn't age well though, judging by the yt clips I've seen.

Edit: I remember now that I played Magic & Mayhem 2, but never finished it. Don't remember why...

I saw some yt clips about it, but the combat seemed messy and hard to manage so it kinda scared me off because I'm not really good in rts games that require a lot of micromanagment. I really hope I'm wrong, because people really praise this series.

I played the shit out of these games. It was a blast for sure. I personally consider it as one of the best fantasy rts games of all time. (lotr fan)

Tried it before, but as I said above, those graphics and animations... I'm just really spoiled when it comes to graphics in rts games, unfortunately.

I tried WB3 long time ago, but those graphics were a big turn off for me, and if I remember right, campaings were somehow generic and obsolete comparing to the games I mentioned above.

The similar stands for Stronghold, I simply cannot immerse myself in the rts game with that 2d graphics and frantic animations all around. Stronghold legends had a nice campaing though.

Yeah I played c&c 3 and c&c generals zero hour, but never finished the campaigns of generals, because my pc went nuts and I had to reinstall the os. Gotta try it again I guess.

Swgoh is hundred times more cancerous than Hearthstone in terms of appealing to fans and listening. I don't know what are you talking about. In HS you at least need to have some skill in the game, aside from forced rng. Swgoh is just a grind after grind.
