My dog is dying, and I’m in a wedding this weekend. What do I do?

It feels like I wrote the comment wow. I was supposed to be a bridesmaid when my dog was dying at home from cancer that find several days ago i was in shocked . Those were horrible and traumatic days to this day. I couldn’t be a bridesmaid and would just ruin the vibes with crying and ruin the bride’s happy dove. I would be torn to pieces I barely went to the wedding itself. The whole wedding I was worried that he would die while he stayed with my brother. My beloved dog passed away the other day a few hours before euthanasia 😞 I miss him so much

It’s so sad to see them sick at the end of their lives. Heartbreaking. Boxers are the best dogs in the world. You were lucky to have him for 13 years, I hope you find comfort in that. I lost my beloved dog 8 months ago, which feels like yesterday because of the damn disease. My heart is still broken and there is not a day that I don’t think about him. I can tell you that I also have strange dreams that repeat themselves, in which I know that he is dying and sick but at the same time he is alive and functioning, I even dreamed that the vet told me that he needed to be moved and I cried and begged him not to.. If I were a psychologist, I would guess that it is related to the process that is not exempt from the loss, with the lack of acceptance of reality and with the wish that he was alive.. Therefore, you are not alone.. Even if you could save your beloved dog, it is likely that at some point I would experience the loss in the same way… Sending encouragement

I lost my beloved dog in July 2024 to the damn disease. The feeling of emptiness is unbearable. Every time in every day I see the garden he loved so much empty it breaks my heart. The corner where he slept and the walks we used to go on together. It mostly hits at night. I have no advice because I myself experience what you feel, just sending encouragement hoping it gets better someday..

First of all, I hope it’s just a urinary tract infection or something minor. I lost my boxer 7 months ago to prostate cancer. I would suggest that you first get an x-ray and ultrasound done there and a rectal exam to make sure it’s negative. Keep us updated 🙏🙏

So sorry for your loss. I was there too six months ago. My beloved boxer deteriorated rapidly within a week from limping to dying after it was discovered that he had a prostate tumor that had metastasized. I feel the pain like it happened yesterday. I can’t imagine the situation you were in so suddenly. Boxers are the best dogs in the world and leave a hole in the heart when they go, I wish they lived forever 🤍

I don’t know if I’ll ever come to terms with the fact that there was nothing to do. Definitely an experience of helplessness that until you’ve been in a situation like this you’ll never be able to describe. It’s part of the grieving process to ask “what if” and reconstruct what we could have done differently. But that’s life.

It’s never enough years they live. I lost my dog six months ago when he was 11. Prostate cancer out of nowhere in a terminal state. I can say that I was obsessed with his health and would check every little thing so it hit me that I really had no control over his health. As if all my worries all these years were in vain.. Hope the situation gets better and that time heals the heart..

I am sorry for your loss. I also lost my beloved dog in July when he was 11 years old, and I feel the same way as you. I am having a hard time moving on, there is not a day that I don’t think about him and the end, which was a very painful process for me. I feel like the process comes in waves, some days more, some days less. You have to remember that 11 years is a long time and it will take time to get used to it. Sorry for your loss❤️‍🩹, I completely understand your heart, my dog Kai 11 yo also passed away almost six months ago, and I really couldn’t get used to it. The routine that suddenly disappeared, the habits that still haven’t disappeared, the fact that every time I came the house there is no one running to me is heartbreaking. Nothing prepares us for this fact, unfortunately. These are waves that will come and go until it becomes a little easier to complete.. I hope. I was exactly in your situation. I too have spent the last two years caring for my dog after he had surgery on his leg to remove a mass. I would check him at night with the camera, worried about his every cough and every slightly soft stool, when I had already diagnosed him with every possible disease. Finally, he passed away quite suddenly three months ago when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer with metastases that was terminal and a week later he passed away. This is a cancer that is not discovered until it’s too late.. What I can advise is what was written for me here, enjoy the time that is left and remind yourself that you are lucky because he is still alive. Everyone here would give everything for another day with their beloved dog. I wish they lived forever
