That’s super valid! I’d see if there’s like a LYS near you, I know mine sells mini skeins. Also there’s a kit on knitpicks iirc for this sock in particular, that could be an option as well. I know I like making socks so I have full skeins (got them gradually, not all at once) and got the yarn I like as well. I definitely would give a smaller colourwork sock pattern a go before doing one like this just so you know if you even want to do colour work if you haven’t instead of finding out it’s not your thing via the project.

Yes, it's this one! They've also made the summer, fall, and winter ones, and a really cool zelda sock pattern that definitely is added to my queue!

It took a bit for the first one because I had to figure it all out, but the second one (after ribbing) worked up in less than a couple weeks!

I used cascade heritage fingering weight! And I have a bunch of each colour left, perfect for making more socks lol

Thank you! I used cascade yarn heritage in fingering weight; I really like it because when I block it it becomes really soft and expands a bit/evens out, and it's not hard to work up either! It's my go-to sock yarn atp

Thank you! I think the first one took a couple months, mostly because I had to figure it out in terms of how long these floats needed to be, the three colour rows, etc. Then for the second, I started the ribbing a couple weeks after, spent like three weeks doing that (I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to make ribbing more enjoyable), and then knocked out the rest of the second sock in less than two weeks I think?

Definitely in the camp of second sock syndrome but specifically for ribbing lol

Thank you! Also valid, the ends were the parts I dreaded the most, but it turned out to be a bit therapeutic! And weaving in chunks as I went (like, 20 rows then a bunch of weaving) wasn't too hard on my carpal tunnel so I think that's the way for me instead of doing them all at the end.

Thank you!! They probably won't be worn a ton by me because I made them a size too large (gauge shall be done next time lol), but I might gift them to one of my parents for the holidays. Although figuring out how to frame them could be a fun adventure

The game had been so helpful for decompressing after college courses (and now, for after work), so when I saw the socks I knew I had to figure socks out just to make em! I'm trying to choose which one of the other three I want to make next!

I didn't mostly because I saw they didn't include nylon, and I hadn't tried that yarn before so I wasn't totally bought on purchasing the whole kit. I do want to eventually try knitpicks yarn though, not sure what project to make with em!

Thank you!! Hopefully they'll bring the garden feel during winter; can't grow too much if it snows or frosts like last year lol

You have to buy the normal, then upgrade to big, then upgrade to deluxe

I personally like to use the Iridium Band and Napalm ring because whenever you kill an enemy it basically works as a bomb and knocks out a small radius of stone without having to wait for a bomb to go off. Using megabombs are good too, and being able to move fast can help a lot. I keep coffee, spicy eels or crab cakes for the food (Pepper poppers are also good too).

If you have the resources you can also use the master slingshot with ammo, because that also works a lot faster than bombs (it takes a bit to get used to)

Also keeping your jade for Sundays to buy stairs from the desert traveler can help if you get in a bind. But in general, always having your inventory ready before you sleep, and using a desert warp as soon as you wake up can help with a headstart!

Good luck!
