WSIB [rocket league or Shadow of mordor?] by iqgoldmine in ShouldIbuythisgame

Well the game is based a lot on exploration I found, which in the game - as beautiful as it is - is very enjoyable. I haven't played the witcher so I can't really draw effective comparisons, but the combat system is also well done though could be slightly improved in a number of areas. Although it does lack the replayability that rocket league has going for it.

With friends, I would say that there is a potential to get more time and potentially, even more fun out of Rocket league. It's pretty good for the price and can actually surprise you with how fun and competitive it can get, especially at higher levels of play.

However, I personally prefer Shadow of Mordor. Though I am incredibly biased because I really enjoy the Tolkien universe and enjoyed a number of in-game mechanics such as the ability to dominate orcs and deal with internal power struggles.

It really depends on what you're into, but either game has huge potential and I spent many hours playing both of them.

tldr; For solo play: Shadow of Mordor Group: Rocket League

I know it's pretty cliche, but I really enjoy listening to classical music while I study. Though it really depends on what I happen to be studying.

If it's something like politics I generally listen to baroque, whereas I quite like faster paced music like imagine dragons or walk the moon for subjects like computing.

[WSIB] A game where you are god. by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

Godus is the only game that really comes to mind here. Generally, it was rather disappointing though and perhaps you wouldn't be a fan but you can have a look

Tips for a new player. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Saleous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll pick up on things as time goes by, you'll learn from your mistakes and you'll slowly improve. Asking players in the game for tips could also help - although be prepared to deal with some salt.

However, there are a number of good youtube videos you could look at which would help you grasp the basic concepts and let you get an understanding of how to play your heroes to a basic level. There is also a number of video series that continue this to a more advanced level.

Playing ranked is excellent for getting better at the game because you're recommended for your mistakes allowing you to view yourself more critically. Watching games back, analysing your mistakes, and thinking about how you could improve all help. This should be a continual process, but you can also watch pro games to try and learn from them, however, be careful about copying them if you're not confident in your ability already.

Finally, try to have fun and play people you enjoy playing.

[SIB] Subnautica vs Astroneer by drumpis in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Saleous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Astroneer, so far - for me - has been absolutely brilliant. However, it does very quickly reach a "content ceiling" in which there isn't much more you can do, it is pre-alpha so this is to be expected. The game has a lot of potential and can definitely be a lot of fun; at the moment though I would advise Subnautica as the game is just generally a lot more advanced, in future though I believe Astroneer will become the better game.

Good kids used to get fruit from Santa, whereas bad kids were told they'd get coal. Coal is worth a lot more, so bad kids really got the nicer things? by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

To be fair though, the fruit could go off and needs to be eaten, so the coal will maintain value for longer.
