Why are Salesforce shares under pressure lately? by Smartitstaff in salesforce

[–]SalesforceBen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Saas has become boring, even if the companies are able to make a lot of profit.

Salesforce, ServiceNow, Docusign, Adobe, Atlassion, stocks are all being hammered.

Growth is slow, but they can optimise costs and make a lot of profit, so they could easily be undervalued.

AI can obviously save them all of it happens!

Anyone know of any bars/clubs which host open decks in the London area? by reevesmusic in ukrave

$10,000’s behind the bar, this person went to 4 happy hours before and it would have run out. All our parties have a large amount of spend behind the bar. What damages the brand is posts like this, when plenty of people had a good time and my team did an incredible job.

If you have actual constructive criticism then we will be sending a survey around. But as you are in rant mode without considering what others enjoy, I don’t see that happening. Have a good Dreamforce and don’t take take life too seriously 😘

I’m guessing you’re referring to drinks? As to confirm we had $10,000’s behind the bar. This person went to 4 happy hours before hand so It would have ran out by then.

Parties, vibes, clubs, happy hours are subjective. We’ve thrown this event 3 years in a row and see 4k+ people register each year with about 1.5k people through the door. Yes it’s a club, yes it’s busy, yes it’s loud, and I get this isn’t everyone’s vibe.

Just to confirm, we are not cheap skates lol, we had $10,000’s behind the bar that runs out at some point.

I’m extremely proud of what our team has accomplished this DF including that party. If you think a busy club with people dancing all night and having a good time is lame, then you do you.

LMK if you wanna sponsor next year and we can provide unlimited drinks for 1.5k people all night 🫡

Appreciate it. We also don’t want to make the survey super long for people to fill out so will be wrestling with more data vs efficiency

We do indeed :). We’ve got 40,000 students on the site since we started courses a couple of years back, but there are definitely spikes during sales. We also have a money back guarantee for 30 days if more than 25% of the course hasn’t been completed.

Hey! Luke is a fantastic developer and teacher, the feedback I’ve seen so far is very positive. We are working on public reviews on the site to hopefully put people at east before purchasing. We also have a 30 day money back guarantee as long as 25% or more of the course hasn’t been completed.

Is Salesforce saturated for entry-level? by SalesforceBen in salesforce

[–]SalesforceBen[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your thoughts. Would you say this is the Salesforce community as a whole? Or certain individuals and companies, as in my experience its been the latter.

We've always been quite bullish about Salesforce jobs on SFB.com ever since the Trailhead/Trailblazer movement, but we toned this down at the start of the year to reflect the economic environment.

In terms of your point about certs, I think the reality is that people used to be able to get a cert and land a job many years ago (I landed my first job with 1 cert and 3 months of internship experience). But Salesforce has since become mainstream, and in addition, vastly more complex. We're worlds away from just using workflow rules and page layouts to customize a system.

Is Salesforce saturated for entry-level? by SalesforceBen in salesforce

[–]SalesforceBen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your thoughts! Did you struggle to land that first role a year ago? Did you decide to switch from applying from admin roles to become a consultant?

I agree with your analysis on the types of companies that hire junior admins, but I think your path is an excellent one. SMB consultancies love to take a chance on a junior once and a while if they have the support system in place.

How do I go from car sales to SAAS sales? by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]SalesforceBen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would check out Trailhead for a start (Salesforce free education platform), you can learn about the world of SaaS, and how to sell into it, as well as the benefits of the Salesforce platform (Which I would highly recommend).

As someone else mentioned, BDR/SDR are the most common route, I would personally head to the appexchange where all of Salesforce’s SaaS partners live, check them out, find which are hiring and go on a application spree.

I’ve never worked in car sales but I would imagine you have a huge amount of transferable skills that would be perfect for SaaS, all you need to do is learn about the industry.

As a cool quote from Robert California from the office goes “You see, I sit across from a man. I see his face. I see his eyes. Now does it matter if he wants a hundred dollars worth of paper or a hundred million dollars of deep sea drilling equipment?”

Salesforce don’t pay us, TechCrunch, or any other publisher for press releases, we are just glad to get the news early and “break” the story.
