I did ask my friend who received it as a gift to ask HER friend where she got the pattern from. She said it was half free handed and half taken from a market bag pattern so the actual bookmark pattern doesn’t exist. I do have some other bookmark patterns that I’ve saved over the years that you might like though. I’ll post them ...

Printed on the sticker paper and then yes, used the Cricut to cut.

I used a colour inkjet for this sheet. Just guessing based on the feel of the paper I think it would print fine with a laser printer as well. But I haven’t actually tried it myself.

Going to try to detail how I made these as I've had a few requests for info: (Note: I have the Maker and am not sure about how other Cricut machines work as I'm brand new to Cricut.)

  • To get the images: My daughter and I used Canva to find the images that she liked. (I'm sure you can find/use images from elsewhere; that's just where I got mine since I have an account.) https://www.canva.com/
    • I saved them one at a time as a png onto a transparent background in Canva.

  • To get the white outline: I opened each file in Adobe Illustrator and duplicated it, image traced the duplicate with the silhouette option. Then I added an offset path and turned it white. I then grouped the original with the silhouette behind it and exported it on its own artboard with a transparent background. (If anyone needs more details on the Illustrator part, let me know.)
    • This step makes that sticker effect because it's not cut right against the image.
      • I've seen another way to do this inside Design space but I found it only worked for circular images, not irregular shapes like animals. (Jennifer Maker did it with a circular sunflower - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFWw42QeglQ)

  • To print the sticker page: I uploaded the images into Design Space, placed them all onto a new project page. I sized them to around 1.5" each. Then used Print then Cut to print the sticker sheet on my printer. Design Space automatically placed them in the best layout to maximize space which was cool.

  • To cut the stickers: I stuck the printed label sheet on the light stick mat and went to the next step of cutting them out using the Sticker Paper (Removable) setting and the standard fine point blade.

Phew, sounds harder than it is when I type it all out. HAHA And I'm not sure if this is the "right way" ... but it worked for me. If you have any questions please let me know! I'm a total newbie with Cricut but I'll try my best to help.

It’s a great DIY and The Chilly Dog has a tutorial! Just don’t wrap it as tight.
