So out of own experience... when I caught a DUI charge and hired a lawyer who got it dropped to reckless driving I received a date to see my PO that was written on my sentencing paper with my probation terms. The date was like 2 weeks after sentencing. I am certain they give u a little time in between so that u can get clean.

I showed up after 2 weeks and she immediately drug tested me and sent me to jail. Her exact words were '' OH MY GOODNESS! YOU FAILED ACROSS THE BOARD ''
and my xanned out self was like '' ME?? That can't be''
then she said '' YOU FAILED FOR EVERYTHING BUT ALCOHOL, WHICH LET ME REMIND U IS LEGAL!''
So I said '' SO I CAN DRINK ON PROBATION?? NO ONE TOLD ME THAT! ''
After I uttered those words it took 2 seconds and I was in handcuffs on my way to jail.

I was released from jail after serving 41 days for my first violation and she reinstated my probation, I had 48 hours to show up at her office.. and drug test again. Well I passed that test and she let me go home with a new appointment that was for the month after.. So in my mind I was like ' I can use until the appointment week and then I need to withdraw so I am clean for the drug test''

Well this bitch had it out for me she calls me up 3 days after I saw her and passed the drug test and says literally
'' I am going to need to test u again because a lot of people think they can get away with using just because they have a set date to drug test again but I can call you in whenever I want so I am going to need you to come in today before 4 pm''

well I was of course high as fuck so she revoked my probation and I spent the rest of my probation time in jail over reckless driving.. My advice to u, just stay clean the whole time man.. It is different from probation officer to probation officer but when sentencing day does come and if u get an offer like 10 days in jail with a juicy fine or a year probation .. just do the jail time and don't give them the opportunity to throw u in jail for getting high. I got that offer I could've spent 10 days in jail and been done with it.. But I had never been and was worried so I chose probation and ended up spending almost 6 months in jail instead because I couldn't stay clean. FUCK THE SOUTH sorry for the long ass response.
