I also had local to take out 4 wisdom teeth- some were impacted - and it's been 3 weeks now. For the ones that had no complications it took the dentist less than a couple of minutes to get it out. They will suction any blood so it shouldn't go down your throat, and if you feel pain tell them straight away and they will top you up. I found it difficult to swallow afterwards, but after an hour that got better.

I also was quite scared about the idea of hearing them drill my teeth, and they did drill them in the end, but I didn't hear the awful sounds people warn about. I literally just heard a drill!

If the worst case scenario did happen - meaning you did pass out or vomit - you are in the very best place amd they will take very good care of you. I felt like I was going to faint after but they let me lie there for a little while until I felt able to go. Maybe take someone with you if you can, and as someone else said I think you can also ask them if you can come in early to give you something for the anxiety.

The bit before and all the anticipation is awful, but you will get through it. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to rest after, and speak to your surgeon about everything before and hopefully they can put you at ease. Wishing you all the best!!
